You are unlikely to get your name back. Not because an existing member already has it but I don't think any of the admins have really bothered with name changes. If you check the the Username Change thread, There is probably about a dozen users in the thread who have still not received the username change they wanted.

So they changed the rules, and didn't edit them into the first post?

No, they changed the rules and did edit them into the post. Which is why Riku was able to change your name way back when and you can't do it now.

...regardless, those rules were implemented recently. This happened about a year ago. You probably won't get your name back. Just think of another one, not hard.

And, instead of making a thread it would have been better to PM Riku himself...

Because when your name was changed there was no rule against editing other people's names to free them up. Now there is a rule. That thread was only made a few months ago, after the change in the rules. How more clear can I be?
