It had been a day since Vex had passed him on the road. He had not stopped to rest since that moment. To his surprise he did not seem to tire as he ran along. His worry for his allies kept him moving. He soon reached a maner of sorts. There were guards outside to keep anyone from entering, but before he had a chance to ask them any questions, Zeria ran out. She seemed to be troubled over something.

"Zeria! Are you okay? I've been trying to catch up with you for a couple days now. I had to make sure no harm came to you."

Felldoh groaned and stirred slightly. His shoulder burned, and he gasped as a fresh wave of pain took him. "Hah!" he inhaled quickly. It caused him to open his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that his shoulder was bandaged, and there was a man standing over him, robed in white.

Felldoh tried to push himself up with both arms, but his left hung limp. He compensated, and pushed hard with his right arm, lmost making himself jump up. Those seasons spent in the quarry worked wonders on the young squirrel's muscles.

As he rose, Felldoh noticed that he was surrounded by soldiers, and the white-robed man was staring at him, a kindly expression on his face. "Ah, you're awake, sir! Excellent, you've only been unconscious for half an hour. Amazing!"

Felldoh noticed the blood that the white-robed man was wiping off on his robe. "What's all that blood from?" Felldoh asked suspiciously.

Still wiping, the man said, "Why, from your shoulder of course! I just finished putting a fresh set of bandages on it. That was quite a wound that you had, the arrow shaft had gone all the way through your shoulder. If I hadn't extracted it, you might have lost the use of your arm permanently!"

Felldoh didn't believe it. He remembered being shot, and seeing the arrow, but he could still use his arm after that. The only reason it hung limp at his side now was because of how much it ached and burned to move it.

"I'm a medic," the man continued kindly. "I had to pull the arrow out from each end. Luckily, it snapped when you'd hit the floor. I didn't have to break anything. I cleaned your wound of wood and all that nonsense, and then I bandaged it, twice! You've lost a lot of blood, master Felldoh."

Felldoh knew this was true. He felt dizzy and light-headed. He wasn't going to falter, however, and he looked around. There were Vex and the old sage, standing surrounded by soldiers. The soldiers didn't seem to be attacking, though, only guarding the entrance tothe caste.

Felldoh thanked the medic, and walked over to where Vex and the old man stood. Leaning close to Vex's ear he whispered, "Look, get out of here with the old man. I'll join you soon, but not until I find out more about this Taharka, and help Julius out a little bit. I have to figure out a way to destroy that gem of his, or he could mess all of us up. But for now, e need you to get out of here, please."

Felldoh walked back to where he'd lain in a pool of blood, and grabbed his sword where it had clattered to the ground. Felldoh noted with astonishment how the Sword had not been garnered or defaced by any of his blood.

Picking it up, Felldoh sheathed his blade and looked at Vex and the old man. "Get out of here, I don't want them to hurt you."

The sun arose faintly upon the face of Taharka as morning approached ever slowly, almost reluctantly. The night had been long - or seemed that way due to the clouds bellowing subtly from Avernus' allied cities and foundries.

Captain of the assassins -Crossel- stood watch for most of the night with his High General, but awoke the men soon as dawn arrived despite having little sleep himself. Having feasted slightly on bread, cheese and water, all felt ready to continue their journey. However, it was not a direct path to the Water Shrine...

SeeD Headquarters lay in wait upon their path. The secondary mission would soon come into play.

Julius had a bad night of sleep, he couldn't rest thinking that his reckless actions would surely lead to a demotion. His thirst for power and position won for him many rewards, and his cold heart and deadly swordplay earned him the tittle of "Death's Messenger". It was 6:45 AM, Julius was already clad in his usual armor suit, his trusty sword at hand's reach for any possible attack. Ever since yesterday's intrusion, Julius had ordered all the troops of Avernus to double the security, Code Red. After having his breakfast in the room, Julius awaited patiently on the balcony, staring at the horizon. While going downstairs, Julius heard that a new messenger from Willendorf, the Kingdom of King Ottmar, an allied to his Highness, the Emperor. The report was regarding the advancing armies of the rebels approaching the imperial frontier, and that they were requesting support. Julius knew that he couldn't order a full scale support for Ottmar, so he opted to wait for Lord Taharka. He thanked the messenger for bringing this report, and ordered him to deliver a copy to Lord Taharka, a report including the necessity of increasing the manor's defenses, the event regarding last night's intrusion in the manor, Arthvader's recruitment under Captain Argexis' command, and the collected information about the Gems of Shadow and Light. The messenger set off to meet the Lord at his base.

Vex still stood in defiance as he was suronded, not giving an inch. His face was etched in determination to protect the old man. It was only when Felldoh came and spoke to him saying, "Look, get out of here with the old man. I'll join you soon, but not until I find out more about this Taharka, and help Julius out a little bit. I have to figure out a way to destroy that gem of his, or he could mess all of us up. But for now, I need you to get out of here, please." Just giving a nod to Felldoh he sheathed his sword and picked up the old man and hurled him onto his shoulder. "Very well then but do make sure that you keep yourself safe."

With that being said Vex turned around and slowly walked out, but not before turning around to Julius and saying, "Beware this is not the last of our encounters, we shall cross paths and then blades sometime soon. I only leave now since you present a chance for this old man to live."

Vex continued his walk out of the manor, his mind still replaying the scenes that happened. His concern lay mostly on Felldoh's safety in that place and then, the gem Julius had. From what little he recalled he knew that was not the true Gem of Darkness, or shadows as the one man seemed to call it. He also left with a great upset, somehow Arthvader betrayed the group. Just as he was begining to trust this group and let some of history know to them, he decided to show his true colors.

Finally he reached the gate of the manor, and whom he saw was quite a suprise. It was Sylar and Zeria running away to where who knows. So he quickly yelled to her, "Wait where are you going Zeria, and Sylar good to see you again after so long. Zeria please stop running if we have anychance to figure out what is now going on we must stick together."

That voice. Damian turned around to see his friend approach from inside the building.

"Vex! I've been trying to catch up to you ever since you passed me on the road. You seemed to be in such a rush I had to find you all before anything bad happened."

Damian looked around expecting one more to come running up, but no one else but the guards were in sight.

"Where is Arthvader? I thought he might have made it here before me."

As the morning approached, Arthvader went ahead and a good meal at the hall. After eating his meal, he headed towards the courtyard. There, he sat by a corner, awaiting for Julius to make his appearance so they could start their sparring match. 'I only hope that this is what i need the most. I mean really, after Kaos almost killed me back there, I really need to improve myself for the next time that we might be crossing swords.'

As he passed through the corridors he wondered how much time would pass before the messenger could deliver the message to Lord Taharka. While he thought about that, Julius had passed through the west wing hall and the main lobby, finally arriving to the doorway leading to the courtyard.

As expected, Arthvader was awaiting for him. Julius approached the center of the courtyard to prepare himself for the sparring match. As he unsheathed his sword, the iron knight bowed formally to the opponent standing before him. "We shall only use our weapons, no spells, just the swords, understood?" Julius said with a calmed voice, he knew that Arthvader needed to improve his skills if they wanted him to assist the Empire on the quest for finally stopping the rebel armies.
