Tournament Battle: Brains versus Brawn
Combatants - Alumar Loren and Belselk Ebenhardt (Red Fox vs. Fair_Game)
Arena - City Ruins
The remains of a broken civilization shone brightly in the moonlight of night. Buildings broken, upturned roads, fragmented windows; the entire city was a mess.
It was the remains of a city targeted by a nuclear holocaust, what humanity had been driven to do to itself out of fear and loathing. Not a single brush of vegetation was in sight, not a scrap of life besides the mutated scavengers that roamed the streets, desperately searching for any sign of food or proper shelter. Some were human, some weren't.
The city was New York, centrally Times Square. The billboards and giant advertising screens were smashed and hanging loosely from their perches, where the slightest impact could sever their bonds and send them crashing to the ground. Some already had, and the upturned pavement was littered with the broken remains of glass and other various materials.
In a flash of light that sent the scavengers scurrying, three figures appeared in the darkness. One was a mage; powerfully magical and cunning beyond measure. The second was a warrior, easily identifiable as one who specialized in physical combat, though talented in other areas as well. The final figure was a floating woman draped in a white robe, her face veiled by the hood of her robe.
As she spoke, her voice was soft and harmonic, beautiful to the sound. “Warriors, you have been chosen, chosen to lead the way into a bright future. Before you can assume your rightful position, however, you must face a series of tests: a series of battles to the death!”
“Should you lose a battle, you will be returned to your world. Should you die in battle, you shall be returned to life as a phoenix would be: reborn anew!”
“Here, the abilities you hold that are aligned with Darkness will be amplified to twice their original strength. This is a land of desolation and chaos, so make use of the terrain wisely.”
“Fight your hardest, brave warriors, and show us that you are capable of leading the worlds into a bright future!” In a flash and a lengthy treble note, the woman vanished.
The two fighters were alone among the ruins. Who could repair the damage done by the ancestral creatures of the land?

A flash lit up the sorroundings brightly, and left leaving Alumar in its stead.
Looking around, the area had the looks of an old city of great magnitude, but this was eons ago.
The place where littered with ruins, and remnants of buildings, that had lost their former glory.
Alumar looked around, getting his bearings. He was not alone.
A young boy was there as well. Though, he did not seem that ordinary. The aura of a fighter reeked from him, and the fight for life where deep in his eyes.
Not too far off, a female hovering above the ground where seen. She was covered in white robes, and spoke with a soft voice.
Alumar and this person, had to fight for their survival. In any case, the looser would be returned to to his world, so in the end, death where not that dangerous here.
As the woman dissapeared, after giving some very basic information.
Alumar thought that he should try to get the upper hand right away.
The woman stated that the element of darkness would hold greater power here, so he thought of using it, at least until he felt the need for other.
Alumar liked to introduce himself to a strong combatant. And due to them both being summoned here, he had to be one that was better then the so called fighters in his world.
"I am Alumar Loren." He stated, bowing slightly, while nudging his hat in a polite manor. "May the best fighter win" he grinned.
He took a deep breath, as he activated [Detect Life], as he almost always did in battles. And took a wider stance with his legs, to make reaction easier.
In his right hand, formed a sphere of pure darkness. It grew to the size of 20cm in diameter, which he then sent towards the torso of the person not too far away from him.
Right after that was sent, he formed another one in his left, and sent that flying as well (around 1.5 second delay between them). He hoped this would do the thing, thought he was almost sure they would not do the trick. He concentrated both on he visual image of him, as well as the mental one that was displayed due to [Detect Life].
This was to be an interesting fight.

The coliseum gurgled with life, its walls positively filled to bursting with warriors, onlookers, gamblers and theives. The bustling mass of figures gathered around wooden tables, huddled in corners, crowded ticket booths and exchanged blows in heated disputes. Some figures boasted about victories in distant lands, while others cowered in awe of the massive statues that would herald in victorious combatants, on their way to the final battle. The air was thick with desire, a musk that wrapped around some more than others, but none as thick as the stink that clouded in thick plumes around Belselk Ebenhardt.
A weighted fist slammed into the counter, leaving a massive indentation of a gloved hand. Wild, yellow eyes peered from the depths of the shaggy lion's mane that surrounded Belselk's youthful face. His eyebrows curled, pulling angry lines around his brow. His teeth clenched tightly, tugging at the corners of his mouth like a tiger, snarling in the face of its prey. The Aegis Ward swung merrily around his waist, suspended buoyantly from straps at his thighs. Belselk's left hand wrapped around the collared shirt of the man sitting behind the counter and hoisted him a full foot in the air.
'I was only saying...your too young!!' the clerk stammered. Belselk wasted no time with words, opting to merely howl at the desk denizen. This seemed to do the trick as the frightened man quickly scribbled Belselk's name onto the list convulsing from fear. 'Its straight though that door! J-just keep going and you'll be taken to the first match! N-now p-please, release me!'
Seemingly unphased by the brutality, the crowd remained in its heightened state of intrigue during the heated exchange. But as the young berserker crossed paths towards the heavenly gates, the crowds parted, effortlessly.
------------------------
Lost civilization, the battered remains of a long dead society. It filled the angry warrior with images from his past. His own culture destroyed but not to such a diabolical degree. A ghostly figure in white began to speak, its haunting melody filled Belselk's eager eyes with images of pain and suffering. Dark 'people-sized' shadows loomed frightfully, permanently etched into the remaining walls, more rubble than refuge.
Crossing the upturned street in front of him strolled a heaping mass, more creature than human. It's pained expression etched a sorrowful tinge in the mind of the nomadic warrior. He shuddered at the thought of the raw power it required to stitch a human form into the fabric of life that made up the stone surface of the surrounding walls. Abruptly, the ghost spoke of death and destruction, of life and rebirth.
None of which made sense to the heavily armored warrior.
At the conclusion of the battle introduction the mage across the way introduced himself as 'Alumar Loren'. Belselk stifled a hearty laugh and pulled the twin shields dangling at his side from their straps. The man bowed and tipped his hat, to which Belselk wrapped the Aegis Ward, the twin shields of the gods, around his arms. Clicking the last fastener into place would signal the whirling motion of the weapon. The outer ring spun rapidly around the central disc, illuminated by blue gems that seemed to pulse, more alive than stone.
Beselk clapped his hands together in good sport, when suddenly he noticed another shadow etched in the ground. The outline of outstretched hands seemed to signify that the creature had been pleading with the awesome power that befell it, begging for its life. Curiously, Belselk couldn't help but stoop to examine it.
Alumar seemed set on waisting no further time and as such began collecting a series of dark magic into an orb around his fists.
'Test shots?' Belselk mused to himself.
Dropping to his knees, Belselk tugged at the uprooted ground, his fingers grasping tightly to the asphalt. His muscles twisted and ebbed unable to budge the heavy broken slab of road from its resting place in the earth. Refusing to give up, Belselk felt his vocal chords choke an angry response.
aaaAAAAAHHHHH!
The powerful battle cry surged a wave of strength though his body, adrenaline mixed with berserker fury allowing the tiny warrior the power to hoist the slab of road high over his head. Alumar released his powerful orb of darkness at the now shielded Belselk, then quickly fired off a second tracing closely behind it.
Belselk's war cry continued as he hoisted the heavy earth into the path of the powerful attack. Darkness collided with a thud against the ground fracturing it into pieces in Belselk's hands. A wild look darted across his face, the dark attack had been far more powerful than he had originally expected. Though utterly bemused by the opening attack from his opponent, Belselk opted to seize the opportunity that had been presented to him.
Shards of rocky earth splintered around him and quickly he responded by turning the bucklers strapped to his hands, into rackets. Quickly, Belselk began striking the broken rocks, sending them soaring towards Alumar. His heightened movement allowed him time to smash ten of the broken shards before they hit the ground. Lobbing them end over end towards the magical opponent.
'Slayer of the God's,' Belselk stammered, shakily, 'it is YOU who will be tested!'

Alumar grinned slightly as the animal like curiosity of his opponent triggered a response, thought his eyes got back to the target, namely Alumar.
The creature in front of him, in the second he used to send the dark spheres, he had boosted himself with some beastly force, and lifted a huge block of stone.
Sending Alumar's grin to the depths of darkness, leaving a twitched look that can be best described as the "What the fuck" look (( O_o ))
He had tilted his head slightly to his right, and one eye slightly more closed then the other.
His orbs made contact with the giant stone shield, crushing it under the force.
The female spirit-like one was right. Darkness was enhanced. Though not the element he used the most, he might find usage of it later.
He was quickly enough sent back to reality, with a feeling that where only surpassed by a jolt to the nuts.
his opponent has used some shields in his arms, slamming onto the falling rock debris, sending some of them towards Alumar.
He was happy that he took some precautions, making a better stance.
He started to do his best to dodge, luckily the rocks only had the speed of thrown ones. So he managed to dodge most of them.
This was the point he realized that he was mistaken.
He dodged most of the rocks, but one passed right through his cape, like it was made of smoke. Leaving a small hole in its stead.
Another one passed his face, not really touching it, but fast enough to make the sheer force of moved air, opening his skin for a small thin stream of blood be taken by gravity.
Alumar looked back at the kid. He had underestimated him, gravely.
It would hot happen again.
Judging by what was done, his sheer strength, and quickness, made him seem like a close combat person. Thought the spinning shields seemed to have more then simple blocking power.
He had to take note of them, for when the time came.
Not wanting to give the initiative to the opponent, Alumar again started his attack.
He looked around, much of the stone seemed to have metal rods within them, perhaps used to make it stronger. Alumar cared less for the reason, then for the usability of them.
He formed again black sphere in his hands, but forming a lightning sphere inside of them. Thus having the explosive version of a sphere with the darkness element, but again having them littered with electricity.
Hopefully that combo would serve as damage, or perhaps secondary via some of the metal littered within the stone.
Alumar sent one, followed by the other, (0.5 second delay) Both where aimed at the kid.
But, instead of taking the chance of them hitting. He immediately formed his next attack.
He pointed the palm of his right arm.
After a split second, a stream of wind erupted from his hand, heading towards the opponent. Strong enough to blow small cars over the end, not that Alumar knew what a car was (([Gust])). He was hoping that if the orbs made damage, or missed. His wind attack would either make the damage worse, or send him flying into a wall, or at least longer away, so he could use stronger attack, and not worry about being caught in them himself.

[Dice Roll : 5, 6][Goat, Horse = Burden of the Beast]
Yellowed eyes peered through the dismal debris, cautiously cutting through gaps in the dust clouds, silently seeking the remains of the magical adversary. The cumbersome attack was slow, but covered a wide area and with enough applied force it should have shattered bone and reduced the would-be mage to rubble. Belselk's usual child-like demeanor was awash in the aftermath of his War Cry, distinctly disenchanted by his armor-clad frame, hardened by a life of battle. A ghost of his boyishness gleamed in his youthful cheeks, his sunkissed flesh, turned tan from long outings, was lost in a sea of anger.
Rage. It set his blood on fire, speeding up his responses sending molecule on top of molecule to bounce quicker and faster against each other. The Seven Deadly Sin that embodied an all-too-young boy. Wrath!
The smoke disappated revealing that the adversary had managed to escape his assault and was now turning his energy to concoct a new magic, a shadow orb acting like a cast around a torrential storm. Assuming the new attack would be at least as strong as the last, Belselk began considering a place of hiding when suddenly he heard a familiar click.
The Aegis Ward gleamed a brilliant blue, the sapphire orbs revealing pictures beneath their hollowed sockets. On his left hand stood the gruff exterior of the goat, while his right hand held the gleaming magesty of the horse. The need to hide was gone.
'Goat plus Horse makes Burden of the Beast...' Beselk mused with a haughty grin. 'Gonna have to beat this one home!'
Closing the distance between his outstretched hands sent a spark of light darting with a loud click. The two top-most orbs expired spewing a heavy laden aura of ominous blue. Dancing from his fingertips, the blue wave wrapped around the upper torso of the berserker warrior, massaging his muscles and encasing his body from the waist up in a thick inch of blue miasma. With a snarl Belselk lowered his head and charged head first towards the chanting adversary.
The opponent released the orb followed quickly by another it spun haphazardly after him. Belselk grinned hungrily, happy to let the darkness waft over him when suddenly a third attack emerged from the mage. A gust of heavy wind suddenly lifted Belselk off his feet, high enough to be completely missed by the electrical bombs, which sent arching waves to contact and discharged through the metal rods exposed in the ground.
'That would hurt...a lot,' Belselk gasped extending a blanketed fist flailing to catch his balance. His fingers touched the tips of a ledge and clamped down long enough for the heavy wind to subside. 'My turn!'
Belselk launched himself like a rocket towards his opponent, his right hand careened towards Alumar's face. His left leg touched the ground then quickly rebounded in a counter-clockwise motion spinning his leg to try and connect with Alumar's chest. Then, while landing, Belselk grasped an exposed pole and flipped his body end over end sending a heavy scissor kick towards the mage's center-of-gravity. The force of the kick pried the pole from the ground making a viable weapon for future attacks.
The Aegis Ward resumed its sickening spin.

OOC: Yeah, if description is a part of the goals to win, you are way ahead of me.
Only one thing. I did not recall Alumar chanting, but you don't have to edit it. I just wanted you to know that the chanting attacks are limited to the summoning spells, as well as Casus. None of which will be used in this battle.
--------------------------------------------------
Alumar saw his balls of dark lightning, making their explosions, ripping the ground apart, followed by the electrical discharge, that would cripple most people.
But no, the berserker seemed to take flight. Alumar's wind attack had connected, before the spheres did.
That was weird, since by his calculations; the wind should follow after.
Though, not the time to nag on that now.
"Click?" Alumar asked himself, as a loud mechanical click was heard from the boy, shortly after he landed.
The gems of the shields on the boy's arms glowed. A strong blue glow.
Then this glow grew outwards, until it encased his upper torso and arms.
The boy suddenly darted towards Alumar. All that went through his head, where various curses, followed by some ideas.
The boy gained distance, and unleashed an attack.
A strike was aimed at his head, Alumar dodged that with a hairs with. He wind moving around on a few strands of hair.
A second followed, aimed at his chest. Alumar jumped backwards to evade it. But he was not fast enough.
He jumped just far enough to make the force of the kick, slightly weaker, but that was not by much.
Alumar took the force of the attack. And was sent tumbling backwards on the stone floor, over to some part that was exposed earth.
As Alumar got back on his feet, chest hurting more then slightly.
It was almost a miracle that his hat, and clothes where not ripped apart in this attack.
But he took no more chances. He took of the hat, and cape. Laying it outside of the are they where at. A few meters away, so that they would not slow him down, and so that they would not be destroyed.
On the way back from putting the clothes away, he held his right hand on his chest.
Glowing a weak greenish aura, his hand had begun casting [Heal wound].
It mended most of his innards, at least took away almost all pain.
As he got back to his initial position, he started to wonder on what the blow aura the kid had, really did.
As Alumar did not know the strength of him, he did not know if it was a strength enhancer.
Regardless, he assumed he might find out during battle.
The shields resumed their spinning, And Alumar guessed what type of things to await.
Alumar again widened his stance, he stretched out his left hand, and focused [Earth Pillar]'s grew out to the ground, aiming themselves towards the opponent.
A streak of several of them, where small and thin, but plenty of either do some damage, even pierce if change had it.
The series of pillars, varied in size, from needle like, til a rough 4inch thickness.
All aimed towards the main body of the kid
----------
OOC2: assume around 10 - 15 pillars

[Dice Roll : 3, 3][Ox, Boar = Burden of the Beast]
The heavy kick planted into Alumar's chest lifting him from the ground and launching him back a few feet. Following up with the scissor kick grazed only thin air. Earth pressed firmly against Belselk Ebenhardt's back, knocking the wind out of him. Wheezing from his self-imposed blow, the nomad warrior propped himself on an elbow in time to witness the mage glowing briefly in green, mending the damaged innards that surmounted from the round-house kick. Fear passed momentarily across Belselk's face, the mage not only had lightning quick casting speed but also could withstand heavy damage!
'How could magic man live?' Belselk thought as the blue aura washed around him in response. The heavenly aura encased him in a thin shell around his upper body, stopping just at his waist. Suddenly, Belselk's mind surged uncontrollably. A pulsing headache loomed at every corner of his thoughts. The effects of the war cry had warn off.
Alumar wasted no time after slightly healing the wounds he had received, still winded the mage began to conjure another spell. Then it clicked!
Aside from the twin discs, thudding to a stop landing on another burden of the beast skill which was completely useless considering the effects can't stack over each other, Belselk came up with a reason why his attack didn't outright kill the Mage.
He jumped.
The moment the thought crossed his mind he felt the earth begin to rumble beneath him. Magical power coursed through the sodden gravel pushing heavy rock like a spoon stirring at stew. Suddenly, a pillar of pure rock shot up through the ground between Belselk's arm and torso, passing passively between his shielded flesh. Another rock slammed hard into the wheezing warrior's back, another smashed the back of his head blurring his vision further. A tiny pin like pillar shattered the shell surrounding the downed warrior, fracturing the pillar and stripping the upper body aura from his body. A final blow smashed into Belselk's right side flipping him onto the cold unforgiving earth, but at the moment it was still.
Rugged breath drew out in long spurts creating tiny wisps of dust devils spinning from his lips. An audible click reverberated near his ear drums as the dual discs began whirling in their unforgiving circular pattern. Angry eyes burst open, widened with a blinded fury that masked the hazy double vision that drew in around the berserkers clouded eyes. Fingers clenched against the rotten ground, shakily forcing the armored warrior to his knees.
He spat a long spew of bile mixed with blood and dirt. A pool of fiery fluid collected at Belselk's knees, the sight of which calmed his whirlpooling thoughts, with a clenched fist Belselk pulled himself to his feet.
Belselk turned his gaze to the recovering Alumar, yellow cat like eyes wavered, teetering on the brink of unwillingly closing. The shrewd mage stood confident of his skills, striking a stark opposing streak against the barren desolate ground. Belselk clenched his fist around the steel pole in his fist, his left hand wrapped around the top half, pulling the pole around his other hand and tightening the grip against his palm.
'You steal from earth God?!' Belselk roared, the tips of his fingers slipping out of the pole loop and tightening it around the spinning shield. The makeshift main gauche pointed its heavy tip accusingly in the direction of his adversary. 'You will beg the earth God for forgiveness!'
With a leap, Belselk sprung to an attack position then charged the mage. His left hand, now draped in the make-shift main gauche swung from right to left aiming to strike the mage's shoulder. His fevered right fist, backed by the heavy spinning shield lifted high into the sky attempting to connect with Alumar's chin in a fierce uppercut. A stream of battle-trained thoughts spooled through the berserkers mind cracking through the tumultuous mind.
'Kill the God-Hater, Bite the forearm! Drain the ... could dodge from ... life from the unbeliever! A ... electricity transfers through ... right cross to the mid-section! He's not trained in close ...'
A disheveled wall stood to the combatants immediate right, the shotty brick mortar shook beneath the heated fight.
'Back him against the wall!'
Belselk rolled to the left blocking Alumar should he attempt to dodge, his left hand swung backwards up towards the back of Alumar's skull!
