Are you allowed to include your own battle system within a roleplay? The roleplay itself will be exactly the same, keeping to the set standard of detailed posts and such, but with the alteration that battles work on an actual system.

Sounds very interesting. I believe what your supposed to do is propose it in The Practitioners > The Break Room. I have a topic for experiments in RPB.

I can see why this would be desirable, but it ultimately doesn't work all that well. While you are free to do this if you please, I would HIGHLY recommend against it. It takes all the freedom away from RPing, and systems are so bland that they suck out all the fun.

Thanks for the advice. I've done these styles of role-playing previously, and they've always seemed enjoyable (I used to run an entire Balamb and FFVII sub-forum with the use of a stats battle system on previous forums), and it just added another layer of fun to standard roleplaying, rather than taking away from it. The freedom is still there, it's just the battle roleplaying that is effected.
I'll give it a whirl and see how people here take to it. If I base it on a Final Fantasy game, would this be better suited in the 'Editors', or because of it's stats system, should I place it in the 'Practioners' like Fair_Game mentioned?

No, this would go in The Editors if you're basing it off of Final Fantasy. If the only thing similar is the battle system, though, and the plotline is original and not influenced by unoriginal concepts, then it would go in The Writers. I can see why it could be considered for The Testing Facility, but because it's an RP vice an experimental RPB, it would go into The Storytellers section.
