When your friend moves away...
One of my best friends is about to graduate. Of course, he's planning on going to a community college nearby, and he'll still be living at home, so it's not like I'm losing him in the near future. However, he told me that when he gets enough credits (about the time of his Junior year of college), he's planning on transfering to a College on the Western Seaboard of the U.S. (We live nowhere near that) And I can't shake the feeling that once he goes, that's it. I've got friends that live about a half-hour away from me, and I haven't talked to or seen them in about five years. if I can't do that, then what'll happen with me and him once he moves away? I just can't get this out of my mind. I know that it's nowhere in the near future. It's about two years from now. But I really can't get this thought of losing him out of my mind. I've just got this feeling that the day he leaves will be the last day of our friendship.

If he does that, then you will have to make the effort in order to see and contact him. Use MSN, text, call or email. Then maybe save up enough cash and visit each other. I made the mistake of not communicating with any of my close friends and some I cant seem to get hold of anymore, but thanks to MySpace, Ive managed to!
It doesnt mean your friendship is over, you just have to put more effort and work into it in order to keep it and from the sounds of it you really value your friendship and should do anything in order to keep it.

It's tough, ain't it? When I graduated from high school, I lost contact from A LOT of people I saw each and every day since elementary school. Sure, I interact with a few over myspace or MSN/AIM, but it's never really the same.
Make an effort to stay in touch. If that requires you to make the long trip to visit him during a vacation or whatnot, then go for it. Write letters, talk online...do whatever.

You know the phrase "There's plenty more fish in the sea?" It's true. There's more than just one person out there. From what I've gathered in your first post, A)You really care about him alot. B)You're head over heels for him.
Whatever the case is, sieze the moment. Tell him. The result may not be the desired result, but at least you can sit back and know that you tried.

But all of that's what the point is not. The point's that's there ain't no romance 'round there.

As mentioned above, try and find some way of communicating between each other. Got an IM program? Got e-mail? Hell, you can invite your friend onto the forums.
But between now and then, try and spend as much time with him as possible and savor the moment. That way, when he finally transfers, there won't be as many tears. If anything, you'll be thankful that you got to do those things before he left.
