Forgetfulness
Oh my god. I drive myself up the wall with this. I just left my bath running for like 45minutes O_o thank the lord for the overflow thing......I do it all the time but never for that long
I always forget that I have food in the oven, leave my hair staightners or curling tongs on, I forget what Im watching on TV when the ad's come on, I miss appointments, leave my door unlocked......blah blah. I swear one of these days I'l wake up dead because Iv burned the house down or something.
I have to write myself notes, but then half the time I forget Iv written them. I never remember where I put things. Il go up stairs for one thing and come down with something else.
It's making me mad, I need to improve my memory/concentration whatever before I lose my marbles altogether

Haha, you sound JUST like my mom! Seriously.
She makes the excuse that she forgets stuff because she has to deal with so much. Annnnd...I wouldn't totally disagree with her on that.
But yeah, I know where you're coming from only from living with my dear ol' mommy.

D. Kawashima's Brain Training. ;D
It happens to us all though, so don't feel bad. I once left my car keys in the ignition all day when I was at work.

My memory's worst if I get distracted by something, and I'll completely forget what I'm supposed to be doing, or that I have a bath running/something in the oven. I'm way too easily distracted. ><
My memory is quite bad when I have to remember to get a form signed for school, or bring in a dvd/cd for a friend.. little things like that. And writing notes is useless because I forget to look at them. I've got into the habit of writing reminders on my hand.. although for some reason when I look back at them, I never understand what I meant by them. o_o The other day I had 'biscuits' written on my hand and had no idea why. =/
I usually have to tell my friends to remind me about things, or if I have something to remember I'll say it over and over in my head... Most effective method for me, tbh.

Wow, I have a very similar problem. Just like you, I forget I'm cooking something if I go watch tv. What I've found though, since coming to university, is that if I stay in the kitchen, even if I get distracted, I don't forget the food.
I have to write a list if I go shopping. Because I do it every time, I know what I mean by it. I also know what you mean about the tv. I've learnt that if its something I really like, I'll just leave it on through the ads.
Its funny when you talk about this though Makes you sound a bit silly

I used to not have a problem with this, but lately it's been getting alot worse. And it's not because I'm particularly forgetful by nature, it's just that I'm always in such a rush or I'll get distracted by the simplest things and stuff will totally slip my mind. Whenever I make pizza I always have to write on my hand "TURN OFF OVEN" because otherwise I'll forget. I just don't think about it, when the pizza comes out it's time for eating, not more oven crap.
