War of the Lions

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if War of the Lions was a direct remake of Final Fantasy Tactics? I just started playing War of the Lions and I've never played the original FFT so I'm just curious if it has the same storyline ect..

From my knowledge it is but with new CGI cutscenes and sum other new stuff that doesnt effect the story. like new hidden characters lik balthier.
