For me it was either the Dragoon or the Ninja. Both of those classes were major factors in me beating the game. So, I love using them.

Ninja just because of the Double Sword.

Samurai's and Dragoon's are my next favorites.

Well it depends I guess. If you want a knight who uses white magic more I guess a robe would be the better choice, though personally I use the magic as a just in case scenario, like if my mage or chemist has to heal someone else or can't reach the person I need to heal.

So I guess the answer to your question would be I keep them in their armor. I never thought about putting them in robes, actually. That may be worth trying, to see how it works.

Has anyone tried using mages with swords before? I think an enemy would think twice before getting close, but then again, with the generally weak def. of mages, it might not be such a good idea. Maybe spears then?
I formatted my mem stick recently, so I need to start over lol.

Tie w/Ninja (Physical Side, I guess) & Calculator (Magical Side, then)! Combine the two for even MORE asskicking!

Ninjas are also better Thieves since the Steal command is based on the Speed Stat & Ninjas have better base Speed than Thieves.

But, back to Calculators...access to EVERY Magic (except Summons, but what's the point when you can have Holy?) with NO MP usage...widest range of targets w/near unlimited spell range...and all from your starting panel! Equip the Calculator command onto a Ninja for extra SPEED (since that's the one thing Calcs suffer at...but since they don't need to move, it's hardly a hindrance even then).

Nah, I haven't tried it myself outside "mages" like Beowulf who are really knights in disguise. Then again, you can generally do some decent damage with a priest's or oracle's staff anyway. Rods, on the other hand, are pointless.

Well if you wanted something with a point, you should go for a spear

anyway I think I'll try it one of these days. I'll let you know the results!

I can't forget about ninja, either. I have a level 99 ninja on my best file with Abandon set to his support ability and wearing a Feather Mantle. So, even from the back, enemies have at best about a 12 percent chance of hitting him. It's amazing.
