although his snotty attitude did annoy me, i didnt pay much attenion to it. i was just glad he was out of my party.
sometimes i pity him.

....? Wow, they sure added alot to the PSP version lol. I remember him actually dying and his name never mentioned again in the PS1 version. You could be confused with Wiegraf returning and having Holy Swordsman skills, but then I could be confused since I haven't played the PSP version yet

you should really explain why you didnt like him O.o

Anyways i didnt like him only cause of him picking on Delita who was one of my favourite characters! He was treating Delita like a jerk telling him he was nothing because he was a commoner.

I hated Algus. He was a jerk and thought that only Nobles should be alive. He barely even helped me out when he was a guest too. His attack sucked and all he did was get too hurt and run away and use potions.

well actually he only had nightblade(the one that sucked your hp) and some vampire moves. i dont want to ruin it for you how he comes back so just play it. unless you really dont care. then ill tell you.

There is no doubt that Argath/Algus was the most blatantly pompous and condescending character in the game, but was he truly the most contemptable?

Personally, I believe Dycedarg more deserving of the title "Biggest A-hole" (please pardon the coarse vernacular). Argath/Algus has the (admittedly flimsy) excuse of being born into his mindset, but Dycedarg was the son of Barbaneth for heaven's sakes! He was practically born to a saint, yet still managed to get twisted enough to kill his own father and brother and other really sick stuff. Not that it makes what Argath is any better, I'm simply saying he's not the worst.

I think he might have quoted it from the PS1 version.. Nonetheless, Algus as a character was one that i swear got on my nerves and stomp on it the hardest in this whole game! I was severely relieved that he was supposed to be killed at Fort Zeakden later on..

This was only my second Final Fantasy, so I was relatively new to the world of "characters you think are on your side but betray you later on." When he shot Teta I thought, "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS," a la John McEnroe. He had been annoying up to that point, but I considered him harmless. No more after Fort Zeakden. No more.

True. There were a lot of really irritating characters in this game, weren't there?
