But in terms of plot, his betrayal was a grand dramatic twist. Gets the excitement and the emotion going, y'know?

Haha whats new in the world of Final Fantasy? We always have betrayals. But I agree with everyone sayin how hes the biggest prick ever. I wasn't too surprised the first time I played it through and I had to fight him. Hehe, Ramza and my black mage named Vivi took care of him no prob!

Lol… Yeah, had completely forgotten about this guy and was reminded of him when answering the Favorites & Worst Thread. (It’s been a long time since I’ve played this one). Anyway, He was a prick; the only thing I enjoyed more about his character was the ability to kill him.

I hated that prick. Come to think of it, in that fight where he says "animals have no god", it actually made me GLAD when he got KOed. Only battle where I've actually been glad to have a guest KOed. I was so glad when I could finally kill him (and it was a damn hard fight too).

I just remembered that we have to fight him a second time. You gotta fight him before you finally kill the Marquis for his stone. He becomes a swprdsman again and has acess to the holy knight skills. Though with Argais, Orlandu, and Worker#8 by that time he just died quickly and horribly.

Well that's a stupid way to play an RPG, especially Tactics since the story is amazing.

Oh crap, really? I thought he was already gone x__x And if he's a Holy Knight that means he'll still be able to inflict me with statuses like he did with his damn bowgun. I'll look forward to killing him for good then.

Well this was in the remake that we fight him a second time. However in the orgional I forget cause I have not played in ages. Though since the remake has a few extra battles so far only involving Delita and the extra fights for the two new extra characters I think that fight is still there. It's hell easy though cause he only got one attack off which was the judgement strike or hollowed bolt, more believe it was judgement strike. After that it went downhill cause he just got owned out of no where. All he has is just 5 puny ultima demons to back him up, but all you have to do is kill him and they vanish, so unless you need ultima you don't need to weaken him and try for them to cast ultima on Ramza.

I think Algus was just a prissy moron in over his head. He just thinks he's some sort of good person but he's not.

Also, there was actually a choice you could make in the beginning, either only kill the enemies or help him. I chose help him cuz I'm a nice guy but I regretted it later.

I remember when i first played the game I hated Algus... I gave him all the XP and good stuff and he runs off with all of it.... I especially hated how he insulted that guy (can't believe I forgot his name!!!). But in the end I felt so good when I beat him... then I was mad when he didn't die.
