Tactics Advance While not directly a sequel to Tactics, the Advance version took the battle style from its parent game and brought it to the GBA.

I love Final Fantasy tactics Advance Waaay more than Final fantasy tactics! Tactics was a little bit too boring! the Job system wasn't exciting at all! although the Laws get a little bit too annoying! it makes the game have no freedom!FFT is just not that fun!

I like Advance more, the job system is better and you don't permantly lose your extremely vital party members like your white mage after three ko'd turns

After I got used to that I prefered that. Made things riskier and harder. You couldn't send your best man on a kamikaze mission in case he/she got ko'd and you couldn't get to him in time. Instead it made you think more about your actions, and to make sure there is always back-up at least 3 turns away from any of your characters.

It really did help to make the game feel hard, and that you weren't invincible, but pushing yourself harder and harder.

It's only really annoying when you only have a character without the item command, or white magic, coz then your'e screwed...

But yeah I liked Advance too. I liked the different species, the different looks for each class ettc. I think the story of FFT was probably a lot better than that of FFTA though, and the selection of what and who you could have was probably wider in FFT; special characters, monsters ( eg, Chocobo's, Bombs and Behemoths), robots, dragons, Beowulf!

That just means you can't rely on one specific character to heal/revive your characters...or just be so good as to not get KO'd in the first place, HA! I like the ability system of FFT much more than the FFTAs. Having to rely on the equipment you have available is fine for FFIX, but for an SRPG, it's extremely limiting and annoying. The twisty, turny, full of backstabery goodness story in FFT also blows away the boring nothing storylines of either FFTA...

I just love the fact that the Tactics games are becoming a little series of their own. Ivalice, Espers, cameo's. Its awesome!

Yeah final fantasy tactics advance A2 didn't really deliver in some key places. Mostly the way the job classes where set up. When i heard about chocobo knights i was like finally! The moogle class will step up! Sadly they didn't deliver at all that class only works with a chocobo and you can't even take the abilities of the chocobos and once you get off you lose it.

Also the assassin sniper combo with concentration as the passive ability has been powered down. The new classes such as gria and seeq are cool although the seeq hunter with mirrored items and item lore is a very broken class. They can deal over 400 damage which is basically an instant kill on most things. The story lakes a lot i mean come one im trapped in a strange world and i have to fill a book to get out? It's basically the story marche had to go through. The upsides are the the laws aren't as penalizing. I hated getting two yellowcards and having to bail out my guys while the enemy can just break lawas left and right without anything happening. What i don't like is some of the stupid laws like having to move exactly one square before you end a turn? I mean come on they put that law in and i'm facing snipers what am i going to do?

I will say that the graphics got a nice face lift in the new verison which is a plus and all the classes from the old game that we love are back even though the blue mage in the new verison is a little watered down and bad breath doesn't nearly deliver the status afflictions of the old game. There is still much to enjoy with 300 missions and old characters making an apperance such as montblanc. Also final fantasy XII chracters appear in the new game too such as vaan and and al-cid
