| Tactics Advance While not directly a sequel to Tactics, the Advance version took the battle style from its parent game and brought it to the GBA. |

death to the judges!
i played the game for a smal lamount of time, i kinda liked it, but i sold it for tactics.
why won't i play this game when i kinda like it?
cause for some reason the law prohibits me from using a sword in one area, and prohibits me from using shields in another, and fire spells in another.....
...
...
wtf.
having a law say i'm prohibited from donig something as simple as use a sword in a world where using a sword is more common then wearing pants is bad enough, but having a judge, who is around for every fight, in every part of the world, whom can't be questioned by any power, and will arest even the mightiest of fighters without any problems.
that's a bit much.
so, in this world, i could get ambushed by bandits, and these bandits want nothing more then to kill me and take my money, and this judge, has absolutly no reason to imprision the criminal that is about to make me his 20th kill on his recent murdering spree, but he'll imprision me for using a sword...
...
wtf.
so...
is there a code to turn the law off? s othe judge isn't there? and can't arest me? that judge pisses me off.

It's a tactical game...your meant to work your way AROUND the laws.
There probably is a code to turn off the Judges for action replays and stuff...but then you lose a great deal of the "tactics" part.

After you beat the game 100% you get Cid who has the ability to freeze judges so they can't enforce laws.

the laws kind of make you create a well ballanced group instead of the all out powerhouses you can have in other tactical games.

Although many players strongly disliked the judges... I enjoyed having them. Some of my most memorable battles were the early ones with crippling laws which I had to work around. The laws made the game much better... without them a player could use a single strategy the whole game through.

Thats what is so good about this game. You seriously need to use your thinker and get round the rules of your current battle. The judges are frustrating, but hey their just doing their job lol!

well, i really wouldn't mind the judges as much if some of the laws were based on something.
you know, give me a reason why you outlawed using shields, or a reason why i can't use fire spells.
i could understand no fire spells in a forest, maybe no quake type spells on a mountian area, but randomly no staffs, or no swords.
and it wouldn't be nearly as bad if you had some way to combat the judges or resist arrest, and beating the game to unlock somebody just to do it doesn't quite cut it.
i kinda like having to come up with tactical ways to aviod or evade the law in a game, but you can't. it just seems wrong that i can do nothing in this world to aviod or evade the law, but everyone else can.
it's like having an antire swat team follow you and only enforce the law when your involved. >_>'
