Angela
I realize that it is unusual (and perhaps a little wierd) for a male RPer to create a female bio, but she is vital for the roleplaying of Chronicle. I didn't read any rules against it, so I hope this isn't frowned upon. I am sometimes painfully unaware of unwritten but assumed rules.
ORPG
Name – Angela Zephyr
Title- Battle Exorcist: Those that vanquish physically manifested demons
Alignment – Good
Race – Human. You've seen a few in your life time.
Gender – Female
Age – 20
Appearance – Angela has a very petite frame, bordering on boyish, that is well suited for her fluid martial arts. Her musculature is kept toned, but she doesn't allow her body to get bulky. Her height is 5ft 6in, and her weight is... nevermind. She'd kill me if I told you. Her skin is a sun-beam above pure white and is smoother than silk (shutup, it's my character). Her head is about the only truly feminine aspect of her body, her chin coming to a delicate point, with an unobtrusive jaw. Her eyes are bright emerald green and are always intense and evaluating. She never wears make-up, so her mouth appers to be no more than a thin line. Her hair is jet-black, straight, and stops just above her eyes in the front and just above the shoulder line in the back. On the entirety of her back is tatooed the entire Catholic Credo in latin.
Attire – Her usual attire consists of a solid green short-sleeve t-shirt that matches her eyes under a black sleeveless vest which is kept unzipped. The vest has two pockets at the bottom on either side of the zipper, both with zipper openings. On the back of the vest is a silver colored cross reaching from the top of the vest to the bottom and extending across the upper back to just under the arms. For pants she wears blue jeans that are loose fit around the legs, complete with a black belt with a silver buckle. For footwear she wears white ankleless socks with black tennis shoes. For accessories, she wears a cross earring on each ear, and a black beret cap for a hat. On both forearms are her Claws of Purification (described in Weapons).
Personality – A true blue tomboy. Angela has a strong sense of righteousness and conviction, and will not hesitate to fight anyone she thinks is wrong. Due to her rigorous training, she is quick to react to both a thrown punch and a spoken word. This sometimes gets her in trouble, but indecision is something one would not mormally associate with her, and when she makes up her mind, her iron will drives her to see it to fruition. Though she is whole-heartedly in love with Chronicle, his pascifism and passiveness toward his own happiness sometimes frustrates her to the point of decking him. She will tolerate no one who tries to hurt Chronicle in any way.
First Impression – Though her eyes radiate ferocity and her body-language seems to exude aggression, something about her smile leaves one with the knowledge that one could hardly find a truer friend and a warmer spirit. Most quickly become accustomed to her 'tough love' affection.
Strength – Just above mediocre. Her maximum lifting weight is about 240lbs. A punch from Angela to a minimally defended enemy with 500 health would deal about twenty points of damage. Her kicks are of equivalent strength.
Speed – "Lightning fast" doesn't even begin to describe Angela's speed. Her agility borders the edge belief. She is able to shift the direction of her body's momentum effortlessly, resulting in liquid movements that confound the opponent. A skilled contortionist, she can bend her slim body to best suit the situation. Her attacks border instantaneous, while she can run at speeds up to sixteen miles per hour after a five second build-up.
Endurance – Somehow, I can't seem to create a tough character. Due to the slight build of Angela's body, her body cannot sustain large amounts of damage and still be in any condition to fight. Twenty heavy punches from a well built fighter would leave her incapacitated.
Reflexes – A true master in the art of reading moves and attacks. However, her highly tuned reflexes require her muscles to constantly be engaged, causing her to lose stamina more rapidly than normal. Because of this, her diet consists largely of stamina building fruits and vegetable juices.
Fighting Style – Angela utilizes a form of martial arts developed in a special foreign mission that was organized to train exorcists. This style trains the body to be able to react to any opponent's attacks, not just the attacks of a human, as the trainees are expected to one day help fight the unhuman. This style concentrate's largely on dodging and redirecting the momentum of one's opponent's attacks, while simultaneously assaulting the target with a barrage of one's own. The difficulty of this style comes in the amount of strain put on the body by keeping the muscles on edge, thus the practitioner's stamina is drained more rapidly than normal.
Angela's weapon of choice are her Claws of Purification. When in their retracted form, Angela can use them in combination with her exceptional hand-to-hand abilities to deflect blows from swords or other weapons. When the blades are flipped out, she can use them to slash or puncture her opponent, as well as catch attacks between them while they are crossed.
Weapons –
Claws of Purification- The two battle claws given to Angela after completing the battle-exorcism course in a remote country. The Claws of Purification are each made up of four elongated claw-shaped steel blades, twelve inches in length, that extend from the wrist over the knuckles (think Vega or Wolverine). The blades are attached to a spring loaded hinge on the black arm-guard part of the weapon, which allows the blades to be folded backward along the forearm, edge up, when not in use. When retracted, the claws simply look like a gaudy arm accessory. The armguards are fastened to the arms at the wrist and about four inches up the forearm. The claws are flipped outward by Angela pushing a release on the sides of the armguards
Armour – N/A
Other Skills –
Sixth Sense of the Exorcist- Can detect the presence and number, but not exact location, identity, or nature, of demonic beings (this includes Fallen Seraphim).
History – Born and raised in the Catholic church, Angela became an adept of Dogma and ritual at a very early age. Her parents died when she was seven, and though the official report said they were killed by a famous serial killer, a high ranking member of the Vatican confided to her at the funeral that the killer was, in fact, a demon. That same priest adopted her and sent her to a Catholic mission in a remote country to be trained in the art of battle-exorcism. Fueled by her grudge against the demons, Angela quickly mastered all of the techniques the mission had to offer, and by seventeen was returned to the Vatican. Afterward, she was sent out repeatedly on missions, causing her to grow stronger and wiser.
At eighteen, her adopted father became very ill, and was confined to his bed. During her frequent visits to his bedside, Angela noticed a restlessness and indescision that seemed to play across the man's face as he lay there. Finally, the hour before he died, he requested that everyone but Angela leave his room. When the last doctor had stepped out, the old priest looked into Angela's eyes, while his own filled with tears. In a weak, wheezy voice, filled with anguish, he told her that it was he, not a demon, that had killed her parents. He had been convinced by the politically minded Cardinals that the sacrifice was acceptable in order to foster a powerful exorcist. However, as he aged and watched over Angela, the weight of his sin became clearer and clearer until it finally put him into the state he was in.
Angela, for a few mintutes, was paralyzed mentally. When the truth finally settled, she reached out her right hand in front of his neck while her left hand shook beside the claw's release. However, when Angela looked into the priest's eyes, she saw a look of resignation to her will and an acceptance of her punishment. She dropped her arm and embraced the dying priest, whispering into his ear her forgiveness. The priest's eyes watered for a second time as he was overcome by the purity of the girl's spirit. Angela then left the room, and was never seen in the Vatican thereafter.
That same year, as she was walking through an urban city, she detected the presence of a demon. She rushed into the closest alleyway to find a man with beautiful short silver hair being mugged by three hooligans. After a very short fight, she looked down at the fallen muggers and demanded to know which of them was the demon. To her surprise, she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see the victim standing nervously behind her, scratching the back of his head. She was even more surprised when he told her that the demon was him. He quickly explained his origins and his fall from grace, to which she could only stare in amazement.
For the next several weeks, the two continued to get together to discuss their unique histories, as a mutual love began forming between them. When the Fallen Seraph, Chronicle, finally confessed his feelings for her as well as his fear of loving a human, she decked him in the face, sending him sprawling across the floor of the cafe. When Chronicle could finally make sense of what was going on, he saw four blades hovering an inch above his face. Angela slowly explained to him that if he were to give up a chance at real happiness in fear of a little pain, she would have no choice but to show him what true pain was. The issue was never raised again. The two now travel the world together; Chronicle documenting their experiences while Angela acted as his body guard.
