The new battle system is known as Digital Mind Wave, or "DMW", and revolves around the reels in the upper left corner, which influence Zack's stats. Upon lining up three reels of the same character and value, a "Power Surge!!" will be triggered, and a technique that has some connection to the character will become available.

There are also new screenshots featuring Reno, Rude, and Razard, who is an executive of the Department of SOLDIER and seems to have two sides, depending on if he's working or not.

Reno: "Midgar's crawlin' with monsters!"

Rude: "SOLDIER is also having a hard fight."

Razard: "We've recieved reports from his parents that Genesis hasn't been in contact with them."

More information should be available soon, and it seems that information on Crisis Core may begin to be released on a more regular basis. </td></tr></tbody></table>

OMG! Is that Cloud I see there down at the bottom!? It looks like he might be a playable character after all! *fangirl scream* I cannot WAIT for this game!!! Thanks for sharing!

I don't see Cloud =S I didn't think he'd even be in it, to be honest - doesn't CC take place before Cloud joins SOLDIER?

Scroll down to the very bottom of the scan and you'll see him, there's three pics of him consecutively that looks like he's in the gameplay. Haven't you seen the other Crisis Core pics? Cloud is most definantly infact in this game. This game takes place during when Zack was in SOLDIER and Cloud was a Shinra Grunt.

That was definitely Cloud at the bottom. I really do hope he's a playable character!

If you guys see the image(of Cloud) again, you will see "Power Surge !!" in it. If you don't understand what this mean, read the first post of this thread.

Some news:

Crisis Core Article from Dengeki PS2 3/9

Scans from the latest issue of Dengeki PS2 (to be released this Friday) have been uploaded, courtesy poster 678 of the Crisis Core 2ch thread. The article is four pages long.

As previously mentioned, the article reveals the full names of Zack and Angeal. Their full names are Zack Fair and Angeal Hewley. The official romanization of Razaado has also been confirmed as Lazard.

According to Nomura, Zack's name is derived from the term "fair weather", and is intended to contrast with Cloud Strife, while Angeal's name has origins in Greek, and there is also meaning behind it. It seems to be based on hyle, which is Greek for "matter", and is translated as "materia" in Latin.

More details will be posted as soon as possible.

Well technically, Cloud never joined SOLDIER

CC takes place around the time of the Nibelheim incident. It focuses mainly around the somewhat mysterious Genesis (known as "G" in DoC) and his story. Cloud will be included in the story, but whether or not he is playable is unclear yet. It may be only Zack that we'll be able to play as

Wow! Thank you for all of this Crystal! Those scans look wonderful! Do you think it's possible Aerith might be a playable character too?? This is just too awesome! I can't freaking wait for this game!

Pooley, if you view the scans Crystal has posted, you'll see that it looks like Cloud is a big possibility of a playable character considering the way he's set up there at the very bottom of the scan. Also Cloud IS in the game. In these newest scans you can see him right there with his name CLOUD right by his face.

Those scans are a really bad quality, so I can't see what's going on in them mostly :( But I'm yet to see a scan that shows Cloud as a character during the gameplay. They've all been as a cut scene so far, so it seems that he may be playing a similar role to what Yuffie did in DoC

Bad quality or not, this scan is LARGE and if you scroll down to the very bottom, you'll see Cloud in what looks like a gameplay picture. It says Power Surge right underneath his pictures.
