Chibi-ness has no bearing on gameplay, so I don't let it bother me. On the note of OSTs...honestly, rock wouldn't even fit into IV, it's a fantasy game, thus is needs orchestrated, classical music.
Ha, one thing I do love about these chibi designs is that now I can say "THIS is chibi, you moronic twat!" to all those people who berate IX because they say its characters are "chibi."
