Final Fantasy XIII Ships 3 million copies in the West [3/10]
Go on. Guess. Or, if you don't feel like guessing, read on to see the shipment figures for Final Fantasy XIII Square Enix released overnight.
With two million units shipped in Japan since the game's release there in December and three million sent to stores in the West for its release here this week, that gets us to five million. Oh, and in doing so, gets the entire series to 96 million.
Of course, that's five million shipped, not sold, but at this stage you'd have to imagine those two numbers are pretty close.

Oh, I was wondering what the numbers would be. I heard one Gamestop store around here had 200+ pre-ordered copies of the PS3 version! Those were all sold on the first day at one store!

It's pretty impressive despite all the negativity around the game. Like it was said, those aren't the numbers sold but I'm sure SE are going to make a killing off this game.
I'm one of those people that haven't got a copy and I don't think I'll get it for a few weeks either.

Having the actual sales figure would be nice - but I wager that FFXIII has sold a lot right now. In the wake of the divisive reception and some moderately low scores and comments - FFXIII seems to be doing rather well nonetheless. I suppose this wasn't surprising considering the name.
While I wait for the actual sales numbers, I'm wondering how well SE's mass advertisement wagon is doing.

That really doesn't surprise me. I figured that there would be a lot of copies shipped because of the hype that the game itself has been getting. I've never seen so many commercials for a video game, let alone a final fantasy game.

Quite impressive numbers indeed.
Looking forward to seeing how many was sold after the first week and so on. I have a feeling thoose numbers are gonna be big as it seems to sell quite well all over the world. Maybe not Modern Warfare 2 well, but still well.
