One Winged Angel?
Well, as we all know, in One Winged Angel, there is a choir singing, but, do any of you know what it actually means? Is it in Japanese? If so, could someone please give me a translation? Thanks

Ahh, thank you very much, but why do you think they chose Latin?

Not sure, I think it was just a good idea to them I guess. Possible Apocolyptic battle, great god like creature....fuck it let's do it in latin.
What I do know though is that the lyrics are taken from Medieval Poetry.

That's correct, they are taken from sections of the Carmina Burana cantat by Carl Orff. The same cantata that the lyrics for O Fortuna were taken from
Here is the Advent Children Version, written by Tetsuya Nomura himself-

Noli manere, manere in memoria
Noli manere, manere in memoria
Sephiroth, Sephiroth
Saevam iram, iram et dolorem
Saevam iram, iram et dolorem
Sephiroth, Sephiroth
Ferum terribile, terribile fatum
Noli manere, manare in memoria
Noli manere, manare in memoria
Sephiroth, Sephiroth
Veni, mi fili. Veni, mi fili
Hic veni, da mihi mortem iterum
Veni, mi fili. Veni, mi fili
Hic veni, da mihi...
Noli manere in memoria
Saevam iram et dolorem
Ferum terribile fatum
Ille iterum veniet
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili
Mi fili, veni, veni, veni, mi fili - Bass/Tenor
(Qui mortem invitavis) - Alto/Soprano

</SPAN> English translation
Won't remain, remain in memory
Won't remain, remain in memory

Raging anger, anger and misery

Come here, give me death once more

Don't you think Japanese singing would've sounded just the tiniest bit retarded in a Classical song?

No, I don't think so. If it's a Japanese game, one might assume that they might sing in Japanese

Actually I could imagine a Japanese version working, though it might not have the gravitas of the Latin words.
I'm actually surprised that Tetsuya Nomura took the time to create a Latin set of lyrics for AC's One Winged Angel. Clever clogs that guy!
