Texas Hold 'Em
I made this thread here because poker is practically a sport and poker pros are practically athletes, but if a Mod or w/e feels the need to move this then do what you must...good luck finding a suitable place for it though
Are there any avid poker players here? or are you the type who just watches the tournaments on TV?
I've been playing for a few months now, I participated in an online month long tournament and finished 240th place out of over 10,000 players so I know my way around the table

I only know the basics of poker; I learned from watching Casino Royale.
My main problem is that I have no perception of having a good hand, and I never fold. Often it works because everyone always thinks that I have a good hand, but later on they just go in and beat me at it.
I prefer Baccarat to be honest though.

Bascially dont bet on anything lower than a picture card unless you have a pair or your opponents are inexperienced and their all place low bets.

I think you'll get used to knowing when you've got a good hand, the next thing is knowing if your opponent's hand is better and to lay your hand down without losing too much money

I love playing card games. My favorites are Texas Hold-em, Omaha Hold-em, and seven-card-stud. I only just play with my buddies at home. Never participated in any tournaments. I would like to test my skill in one though.
