Considering how rubbish most recent FA Cup finals have been (Liverpool v West Ham apart) I'm just hoping for a decent game. But I forsee 1-0 to Portsmouth or something. I'd prefer them to win anyway.
May as well enjoy a final without any of the Big Four, I doubt we'll see another one again for a while!

I can't believe Oliver Kahn's retiring. I really thought he was gonna play until late forties.

No-one really plays until their late 40s nowadays!
Great goalkeeper though.
1-0 so far to Portsmouth, but Cardiff have looked good in places.

Whoa, finally decided to retire? I think that's good, make some room for the youngsters, new blood, maybe someone will turn out to be better then him.

In all honesty...he took his time didn't he? He's been knocking around for ages.
Anyway, Pompey 1-0 Cardiff. Nice to know even though I'm not watching it.

This quote on the BBC website rather sums up the FA Cup final:
"This game is like New Year. It's built up so much, you think this year will be great. Then it ends up being just as dull as the previous year."
So that's 15 below-par finals now in the last 16 years (2001 doesn't count, that was daylight robbery!), and only 2 out of the last 16 where both teams have scored. It's not just the crushing predictability of who makes the finals in recent years that has left the FA Cup so wounded, it's the unerring crapness of the finals. When you think that during the 80s there were three finals finishing 3-2, it's a sad decline. Magic of the FA Cup? What nonsense. I'm sure Portsmouth fans won't care and why should they. But yet another dull final isn't much fun still.

I didn't watch it for that exact reason, whether its the FA Cup, Carling Cup...or in a lot of cases, Champions League, the finals are always boring. The UEFA Cup is where all the 'drama' is at...well at least when we (Boro) were in it.

I think it goes without saying that I partied fucking hard when we beat Cardiff.
I didn't think it was a dull game but then it was pretty much a carnival atmosphere where I was actually watching the final, we had horns out and everything.

We're (Portsmouth) are in the Premier League and Cardiff are in the Coca Cola Championship, which is the league below the Premier League in England.
