I have no question that he'll take the pressure, it's the players that'll need to buck up now. Fortunately for you Capello does have a record of dumping even the biggest players for the good of the team so hopefully that'll be the end of the Lampard/Gerrard partnership amongst other things. If what I've heard is true then it's a possibility Owen will be dropped too.

Phew, that was too close yesterday against Spurs. We'll need to be better in the next couple of games to keep Man Utd at bay.
I have to be happy with our form going into the second half of the season anyway. I just don't think we'll last the whole 38 games, prove me wrong guys :(

From the start of the season, I've been saying that we'll finish second. Lately I've been thinking we can go all the way though. Hopefully we will. But whatever, it's just nice to be top at Christmas for a change, even if it is only a point.
It'd be even better if Carlisle got to play Swansea yesterday too, because I think we would've won that and then we'd be top too. =D
Adebayor's goal yesterday was a masterpiece.

I'm not too sure about Arsenal winning the League, I'd still go for Man United to be the better team in the long haul but Arsenal have been far better than I'd ever expect so who knows?
As long as Liverpool or Chelsea don't win anything I'm happy.

Middlesbrough ftw. Season ticket holder
Anyway I hope Arsenal win the league this year simply because they play attractive and effective football without having to spend millions on players and also because they let Henry go so I want to see them achieve something without him, though Fabregas has impressed me greatly
Liverpool - hopefully 2nd place because, I dunno really I just want them to (though it won't happen)
Chelsea - 3rd place because I don't want them winning anything purely because they have spent far too much on players they don't need...Shevchenko comes to mind and also because they have spent far too much on players anyway.
Man Utd - 4th, simply because I hate them with a passion and also hate Ferguson (though he is a great manager he is arrogant) and I hate Ronaldo (again, though he is a great player I do not like arrogance and regular cheating he brings) AND because the majority of United supporters are glory supporters and the majority of people in Manchester are City supporters - though Man Utd obviously won't finish 4th I can wish.

If you want us to win the league, you shouldn't have beaten us damn you! XD
Well it's good to see us on top going into 2008 (though we're playing on January 1st, so that may change quickly) but we still seem fragile at times, especially away from home. It's great that we are exceeding expectations but it's going to take a lot to keep Man Utd and Chelsea (and even Liverpool) at bay for another 18 games. I can but hope

'The Messiah' Kevin Keegan has made his second coming by becoming Newcastle manager again.
To mark the occasion here's a couple of very famous Keeganisms.

What a guy. Should be a good laugh.

The 'Messiah' Keegan = epic failure
He let a 12 point title lead slip and failed to win anything at Newcastle...not exactly Messiah quality...but the Geordies will still convince themselves that they are a big club and will win something soon...they can keep dreaming I suppose.

Of course when I use the term Messiah it's very much tongue in cheek. Newcastle won't win bugger all again and especially if they get in Shearer for the No.2 position since you just bloody know he'll undermine Keegan like the complete tosser that he is.
As I said earlier whenever he opens his mouth comedy gold spews out, at the very least I'll look forward to his comments every week like below.
'We have spent three matches chasing a football.'
Truly a man full of pearls of wisdom.
Saw today Birmingham have spent £6 million for McFadden, I'm sure that'll prove to be money well wasted.

I know, I know
...and McFadden was awful for Everton so why did Birmingham decide to buy him for 6 million - Derby are sure to be relegated but still continue to buy players which mean they will be into even more debt.
- The Mackems have bought their 4th player of the season but I hope they stay up for a rivalry sake.
- Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur final...come on spurs!!!
- We (Middlesbrough) look like we are set to sign Afonso Alves for £10-£15 million
- Hopefully DIC will buy Liverpool and kick the American owners out of the Premiership where they belong, why on earth they bought Liverpool in the first place is beyond me. American owners + football = failure.
All in all its been a hectic January transfer period so far.
