In the long run, it might do us some good not qualifying. Hopefully it'll hammer some sense into the players, and into the top FA bosses who seem to just choose whoever's available at the time.
Still, I've felt worse after a football match.

And now there's been a lot of talk about Redknapp taking the England job, which pisses me off. Don't get me wrong, I'd like for him to be the England manager, just not yet, he's got another 4 years with us left on his contract.
I think Mourinho should get the job to be honest, he knows most of the players and he's even managed a few of them, he knows what it's like to work under presure and with big stars and he's achieved some amazing things as a club manager. He'll do a much better job than what Sven did.

Mourinho has said that he wants to manage at club level again before going on to international, so he's out. I think it'll be either Terry Venebles or Stuart Pearce to be honest.

I doubt it'll be Venables, seeing as he was McLaren's assistant or the suchlike, they'll want to make a clean break. Stuart Pearce maybe, but they will probably want him to take the U-21s to Euro 2009.

Redknapp won't get it now he's been recently arrested by the police, Mourinho is interested in the post but I've only heard Lampard and Cole mention that they would love since since it's the only way they'll get a game!
The draw for the European Championships was a pretty good one, especially since France, Holland and Italy drew each other. Should be great and it was funny to see the French coach have a royal bitch about the draw. Serves the arrogant prick right.

One of Portsmouth's players was recieving a portion of their agent's pay. Redknapp has nothing to do with agents, only the players. He was arrested because it would draw media attention to the whole ordeal, makes it look like the police are on top of this football scandal bollocks.
He shouldn't have been arrested but I still hope it makes the FA think twice about him because if he gets the England job, we'll be lost.

I'm not suggesting that Redknapp did any wrong but the FA would take his arrest into account when considering him. A similar thing happened with Allerdyce with that scandal business.
To be frank there isn't many I can see that would either take or want the job considering the stupid amount of expectation and media attention that comes with it. They seriously need someone like Big Phil Scolari in charge who isn't afraid to drop big players for results but the media put him off.
And there aren't many English managers I can think of who would be able to take the job either.

Jose Mourinho's got my backing, I don't care if he's not English.
He's still a good manager who knows the English game and how we play even better than most English managers, if he doesn't get the job then England will be a team on a downward slope for many more years to come.

Mourinho would be a good choice and he's a manager that looks at results first which is what England needs. It would be interesting though to see if he'll drop Lampard or Gerrard in midfield. That's been one of Englands weakest areas when they are playing with each other and you'd imagine one would get dropped sooner or later.

I like the things that Mourinho has done. I grudgingly admit that he is a decent manager.
But I'd prefer it if the next one was at least British or Irish. That, and I can't stand his ego.
