It's England, they do nothing but expect. One of the biggest reasons that they haven't won bugger all for 41 years now is because they think that they deserve to win instead on concentrating and bloody well doing it, prefer they don't really since another World Cup win for them will drive me nuts.

I don't expect too much from Engalnd. We have the individual players, but unfortunately they can't play as a team. The tactics we use with those players isn't effective either. We just need to wait for another 5 or so years when the U21's are the main first team. Then we can be serious about winning a tournament

The biggest problem the last few years is that England have relied to much on Wayne Rooney, the hype is based mostly around him and it affects the players when he's not there. Having Rooney in the squad isn't that crucial since England do have a massive pool of talent to pull upon, Andrew Johnson, Defoe and Bent come to mind right away and if one of them were at the World Cup instead of Walcott then you could have had a better chance.

Exactly. Even though I'm an Arsenal fan, I was against Theo going to Germany. He hadn't played at all in the Premiership, and there far more proven players with better match fitness. I would've preferred it if Darren Bent had replaced him in the team. Credit to the lad for going there, but it was a huge mistake on Sven's behalf

I like Jermain Defoe, but he seems to whine a lot about not getting enough playing time on the national team. He's probably right, but I'm just tired of him talking about it.

I think a lot of our players are like that. They all twine about not getting their chance, but most of them don't actually perform well for their clubs. If they want to be representing their country, they have to prove that they deserve the chance
Andy Johnson does it much more professionally. He says stuff like "I respect that there are better players.." and "It's the coach's decision not mine..." and I think that helps his chances a lot. I'd much rather have AJ or Darren Bent playing of Defoe (not only because I'm a Gunner either

As for the best league well i watch premiership and the spl, ive got a lot of respect for the spanish league but NOT the italian.
I think the english premiership has the best quality of football in the world.

Champions League again this week...

Milan 2-2 Bayern Munich
PSV 0-3 Liverpool
Roma 2-1 Manchester United
Chelsea 1-1 Valencia

(Keep in mind that both Bayern Munich and Valencia have the advantage on away goals.)

I'm just going to put Liverpool through to the semifinals right now. Why even play the second leg at Anfield? As for Manchester United, I would have preferred a win, of course, but that away goal means all we have to do is win 1-0 at home and we go through. Of course, Roma is a tough team, but I think we can score one and keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford. It'll be a little rougher without Paul Scholes, but there's no use in crying over that now.

Disappointed that Liverpool will get through unless they lose 4-0 which won't happen looking back at previous games. Wouldn't mind whether or not the other two English teams lose though although United are lucky not to go further behind, but playing for a 1-0 at home though is a very dangerous thing to go for though. Chelsea you'll expect to make it by the skin of their teeth, as long as Drogba is fit they'll have a chance but Valencia really did dominate a fair bit of that match until Chelsea decided to actually get amongst them.

Well, I think that Man U will pull out all the stops on their own turf, as much as I don't want them to. They usually do manage it
Chelsea on the other hand, have a harder task at hand. They must score, and Valencia are incredibly good at home. I just don't see this being a good year for them. Liverpool are prectically guaranteed a place in the next round
And in the other match, Bayern Munich clearly hold the upper hand and I think they can carry this through and make it to the semis
