Get Mclaren out
He should never have been appointed in the first place, he's the perfect man for the FA, someone they can pull the strings with, however they forgot one thing, he's crap.
The england players need a manager who can get a team spirit, getr a team game going on,playing with an attacking emphasis and a solid back, using our strentghs instead of macca just having all the players run in circles
and for god sake DROP DOWNING! he isn't England quality, we also need Joey cole back, he's our best attacking threat, the man we need? GUUS HIDDINK!

Lol, he was right to drop the captaincy, and we appointed the right captain, but we still need beckham, even coming on as a sub for lennon,or vice verca depending on the opposition and the tactics.

I agree with you that Steve Mclaren was never the man for the job. During the discussion of who should get it I was really pulling for Sam Allardyce. He's done a great job with Bolton, and he has the has the discipline and mentality to to stick it to the players when they've done wrong.
I really think Mclaren was a bad choice, but now he is manager, I'd give him another chance. However if we don't get into Europe he should go purely cause that is ridiculous. I mean, we don't even have a hard group.

Yeah Big Sam was a good choice, good at managing players and can get players to stick to their task, kind of like Mourinho in that matter.
With our group, there's no reason we shouldn't have won every single game.

You hit the nail right on the head there. Steve McClaren is proving to be one of the biggest mistakes the FA have made. He did well at Middlesborough, I'll give him that, but he's too afraid of the backlash if he drops a big name player.
I'm all for Sam Allardyce taking the helm. He doesn't care about the name. He cares about the form that the player is in. He clearly has good man management skills and can motivate the team

The fact is, McLaren is staying until either England don't qualify or if they have a poor Euro 2008. The FA rarely ever boot out anyone mid-qualification (barring Hoddle, who went for non-footballing reasons). The fact he was clearly not the FA's first choice speaks volumes - but the players have to bear a large brunt for this, they're not performing to anything like their quality, and that can't just be down to bad tactics and lack of leadership. And also the media are as usual being ridiculous in their vilification (I'm looking at you, The Sun especially), it happens with every England manager in the papers and it really gets boring.
Either way, he's not going yet unless he decides to resign, and even that's very unlikely. You'll have to put up with him for a while longer.
And whatever people will argue over how good he'd be, fact is that I have more chance of getting the job than Allardyce does. The FA will not choose someone like Allardyce (which is just as well for my sanity - watching England play like Bolton would be torture of the highest level). Personally, if they have any brains, they'll go for someone like Guus Hiddink next time.
Of course one problem is many managers (i.e. the good ones) can plainly see being England manager just means you'll be endlessly crucified and are sensible enough to not touch the job with a 10ft pole. As someone said, the likes of Taylor, Hoddle and Keegan were pretty much destroyed by the job.

The ironic thing is that if we have a really good Euro 2008, everyone will put it down to McClaren xD
If McClaren is going to go, I think now is the time to do it. Every team always gets a boost when a new manager is appointed, and that's what we need right now. We don't want to leave it too close to the next game though...
Despite how much I'd love for Big Sam to be the next manager, I honestly can't see it happening Knowing the FA, we'll end up with some second-rate foreigner again

^ Losing 2-0 to the World Champions isn't a disgrace by any means, Scotland will always be the underdogs at this level but I'll be happy as long as we are making a game of it.
Major problem with England is the manager which unlike some people don't seem to see is the problem in the end, at this level then the players should be wanting to play and it's the managers job to drop them if they are not performing. McClaren doesn't do that and it will cost him his job in the long run, he needs to drop the duds and play people he can trust to always give him 100% and not when they feel like it.
You'll always see same players defending the manager after a bad performance but that's pretty much bullshit coming from them, they are just covering their own asses for when the next manager comes in. These are again the types of players that need to be dropped.
And with Big Sam critics then I'll ask this, if he actually gets the results and does well then who really gives a shit whether or not you are playing attractive football? England want and need results, they aren't Brazil or France so don't kid yourself on that you are.
Greece won the European Championship in the most boring way possible by just making themselves hard to beat, can't see England playing as badly as that but they need that sort of team mentality. Their manager didn't take some of their best players because they were wanting to be in for themselves and not because of wanting to do the job for the team.
A manager like that who can take the criticism that would follow such actions is what England need right now.
