Liverpool were really dominant in the '80s. Manchester United were the club of the 90's and people had started to say Chelsea would dominate the beginning of the new millennium, but you can see United have had something to say about that.

Liverpool have gained the reputation as a Cup side since they can't seem to put forward a good challenge for the title. They've spent a fair few seasons trying to stay in 4th place. They just can't stay consistent enough to be legitimate challengers.
United have just taken a few years of transistion with bringing in new players and letting some go and the team is now showing what they are capable of. A similar thing has happened at Arsenal but they're pretty much left with the youngsters now, in the next couple of season I'd expect a fair bit of improvement on their part too when they get that experience.
Chelsea would probably have been fine but they've screwed themselves when releasing their good players and replacing them with a few duds.

That is Benitez and Liverpool in a nutshell. Benitez's record is fantastic in Europe with both Valenica and Liverpool, with Liverpool on the brink of 3 Champions League Finals in 4 years. However, that's all about how Benitez goes about his signings, he buys players that can produce a one-off performance when needed but apart from the likes of Gerrard and Torres they are nothing special week-in week-out in the Premiership...and why Babel doesn't start more often is beyond me. I still reckon that Liverpool are going to go all out because if they lose or get a score draw it will be extremely difficult to go to Stamford Bridge and get the score they need. Which is why they beat Arsenal, because the last leg was at home.

I'm still going with this prediction
Torres and Gerrard...especially Gerrard look phenomenal on European nights, and I generally thing that the Kop will play a huge part as well as Liverpool being too strong at Anfield.
Gerrard and Torres to score :wink:

You got that part of your prediction wrong anyway. Been a so-so game first half.
Liverpool = Flukey gits. Again.

He should of scored...as soon as he took the second touch he had to stretch.
Any other game he'd of buried it.
...and Kuyt...he's done nothing all game and he scores, damn him.
I still say 2-0 to Liverpool...Torres has to score next half
Chelsea look crap though

I hope Liverpool win, can't stand Chelsea anymore. Of course, I'm betting for United to win tomorrow considering I'm a Red myself ... a North West final would be really intense.
