Digital Fortress, an excellent book by Dan Brown.
Smry: main character works for some hidden organisation, some Japanese dude hell bent on pwning all their asses, send them big crazy virus, and involves some fat dude nameb Jabba

A Million Little Peices by James Fray
It's well good, he was a drug addict and his mam and dad throw him in rehab. There are one or 2 bits that made me cringe, especially when he had to have root canal done without pain relief 
True story btw. T'is very gewd

I'm not much of a book reader, but The Dragon Keeper is a good series not much to do with sci-fi though.
Stormbreaker is also a goos series that's sorta sci-fi
