I only watched the anime up until L died.
The whole Death Note was good before that since it was literally a battle of wits between those two trying to out-do each other, fighting for the own version of Justice and etc.
The only thing I'm glad about for the anime instead of the manga was when L molests Light/Raito's foot before he dies; you know it's true XD.
