New Sub-Forums
I'm sure some of you have noticed, but we have some new sections around the forum. I'll give a basic overview although they're pretty self-explanatory.
- Multiple Platforms (under Rocket Town) - Basically any games that expands across multiple platforms belongs here.
- Game Reviews (under Rocket Town) - FFF's official game reviews written by our very own members. Guidelines will be updated shortly.
- FF Miscellaneous (under General Discussion) - Topics that doesn't really belong in FF Fun or worth of post counts.
Thread title explains it really.
- Callouts (under Clan Battle Arena) - A separate section for all the GFX callouts that goes on.
- The Lobby (under Spam Coliseum) - A section that is still meant for spam but not altogether spam. This is still a no-post count area, but the topics will remain on topic instead of people pointlessly spamming it like the actual spam section.
- Photo Album (under the Meeting Room) - Pictures and videos of members, as well as any picture scraps that anyone can think of.
- The Meeting Room is now post-count enabled, so please try to add effort in this section from now on. =]
...And I think that's all for now! Look for some more updates later on!

The Game Reviews section will have guidelines once I sort out drafting them, then looked over by other members of staff...or at least I think I'm the one who's doing that.

I'm stoked about the Review section. I hope to see some really good reviews. I'm still interesting in hearing how you're going to handle the editing but it should be cool. Can't wait to see it up and running.
For the most part, the rest all look fairly decent. That Lobby sub-forum is going to be the biggest waste. I wonder how long it'll take before someone gets docked an infraction for "spamming" in the Spam Colosseum. Not like we don't already have Costa del Sol and the Spam Colosseum.

The Lobby was made as a bridge between the Spam Coliseum and Costa del Sol because of the fact that so many threads, which don't belong in Costa, are posted in spam but get derailed far too quickly. The Lobby is for spam-esque threads but with an intended topic to which posters should stick. I guess I'll have rules written for The Lobby, to clarify this, as soon as possible.

Feel free to do so; I'm not sure that any of us are particularly fussed, so long as we address the fact that reviews must be approved of and grammar/spell-checked before being posted.

All good editions imo, and even if they don't work Aztec my boy, what can we lose by trying them out?
All hail Suki for putting in the time and effort

Dignity.
They don't all seem like bad additions but more forums is not what we need. If you want to do something for FFF, clear the clutter and unnecessary sections... don't add more. These certainly aren't the straws that broke the camel's back... his has been broken long ago... but as much as this is being praised for its admin initiative, I'd just like to see some in the direction of merging and better maintaining the boards.

The only thing that we could do to 'condense' the forums is put FFs 1-6 in a forum of their own, under "Classics" or something, then put 7-13 in another forum for the more landmark titles. Other than that, most of the site still looks how Busta arranged it, which was the member-approved layout. There're no more issues with the forum arrangements.
"Dignity"?
If you want to see the boards being maintained better, then post in F&S about it. We can't improve if we're unaware of concerns.

Yeah, like Riku said, I think when I was on and people were suggesting a forum-revamp with condensing, we actually got rid of a buncha pointless forums that were covered elsewhere on the site. Like at one point we had about 8 different Clubs, and some were only posted in like 2 times every 9 months, so we combined, removed, added, where fit.
What would kind of be cool for this site though, since it has capability to be HUGE, is to have like a Front Page. Someplace where we can put Game Reviews, Character Bios, News Articles, Release Dates of upcoming games by Square Enix, as well as member submitted graphics, fan art, and Fan Fics and link it to the forums here. I'm guessing it would be more money at the expense of Lord Golbez, but it could work out and be a great success for this site. Also, it would bring in big traffic for those internet searchers who look up FF stuff on search engines; Vwallah! It would lead them to our site instead of to other FF sites!
Just an idea/dream.

I've actually had to remove a forum already (The World is Square) and replacing it with a sub-forum (Multiple Platforms), which I simply stuck under The Rocket Town. "Classics" (used to be under Rocket Town) and "Bone Village" (The Sleeping Forest) are also gone now as well and threads within it were moved accordingly to its proper location. So yes, for the most part we do try to merge, remove, and add when appropriate. I apologize that the announcements regarding the addition and subtraction of sub-forums were not made sooner than this.
