Number one is beautiful. The colours really stand out and catch the eye. The other three all have a very similar look about them. =/

#2, it was the first one that caught my eye straight away. The colour of the background goes really with the render and the vector brushes are nifty. The borders look pretty neat as well. Good job. 
Just as a note, after Coco's misvote #2 really has 6 votes, not 5.

I voted number one. I felt it was a great use of color and I'm a fan of L so it immediately caught my attention. But like what was already said by Sashman I didn't like the pink spot either... But it still was great!!

I'll go for the first one as its an interesting use of what seems like traditional Japanese and colourful art style, specially considerings the faggy subject from Deathnote which usually goes hand in hand with grimdark backgrounds feeling sorry for itself. So yeah, pretty colours.....

I voted for option number three earlier today simply because it's the over all better-looking of the bunch without being cliche. Yeah, I really am sick of seeing big bad L in every other thing I look at. Nothing against whoever made it, it's just that L doesn't do it for me anymore... the render choice threw me off, nothing more.
I liked option number three's background the most, and the obvious attention to detail on the render capped it off for me. Very nice work.

First of all, I want to say that all of said entries were impressive, so kudos to all the applicants.
In the end I chose the first one mainly because it had the best colour combination. That and the fact that I've seen that Lelouch Image WAAAAY too many times to appreciate it. A lot of what makes a signiture unique is the IMAGE you use for it... and well the more "uncommon" it is, the better.
So yeah, 1 gets my vote XD

I'm torn between 2 & 3, Iove the images and backgrounds inthem both, I thiiiink Ima go for number 3, I liek the B&W with red and turquisy colour makes it stand out that little buit more

I like #3 the most. The red areas look awesome against the black and white. The background is pretty sweet as well, though all the entries have great backgrounds, in my opinion.
