Who decides who you are ? The world or you?

Who is right you or them, who are you . Who is right to decide. The world or you?

Did you ever talk with family , or people that do know you , but not as well as they might? You talk with them, and then wonder who you are outside of your own head. How do people see you, "what do they think about me ?"

Have you ever been shocked before to hear things about you from close friends, or people ? Things that you did not know were true about you, or that is how others view you?

If other's don't know you and do not indicate who you are as a person, individual , amongst other individuals , if you are not segegrated per say , tested as an individual do you know yourself as well as you think you do ?

Can anyone precisely know their selves well? When its up to the rest of the world to continuously learn from your actions, and you just do them for your own motives and reasons, do you really know yourself well. Does your bias of yourself rape your real image that others see?

I don't really underatnd the initial question....but other than my Katie who knows pretty much EVERYTHING about me, what people know is quite limited. They think im rather guarded and tend to keep things to myself, which is pretty much true...although no one knows me better than myself. I know my faults and weaknesses; I'm selfish, impulsive, bitchy.....alcoholic

If anyone told me these things I wouldnt be like omg, that's so not true, or think oh my god, i never realised this because....well...it is true lol

Im not really fussed on the whole part what people think of me, altho i do have my od moment of paranoia

Very few people understand the kind of person that I am. It's most likely because I don't tend to tell people about myself because I never assume that people want to know about me first--people are generally more interested in themselves than they are about other people. I may be considered predictable because I am blunt and insensitive with regular schedule habits, but to understand why I am the way I am may be considered difficult--I admit I don't get along with everyone, even if I don't try to piss them off.

I am who I am, and no one can tell me that I secretly or subconsciously believe in God, nor can I pursuade other people I am someone they think I'm not, or be the person they think I am. I have accepted that people have different opinions of what I am--I would like that people appreciate or hate me for what I am, and I cannot change the fact that they do, but I don't force people to see things they don't wish to see. If they don't wish to see the person that I am, perhaps they are not ready for the kind of person that I am.

When people describe me, I usually am a little dumbfounded by it, unless they're trying to be insulting. Then it's just really nothing worth paying mind to.

But often when people say things about me and aren't trying to imitate traits found prominent in that of a nine year old, I am surprised most of the time. FFF's nominations 2008 is really a perfect example. I had no idea that I was so funny.

Well... I really don't care what other people think I am. If they don't know anything more about me than the flesh and hair on my body, they couldn't possibly know what kind of person I really am. So I'd just say that I'm right. No one can know me better than... Well, me.

For example, I'm quite an angry guy. In fact, I'm usually frustrated with something most of the time, but not too many people know that. I spew my shit every now and then, but I'm capable of pulling a duplicitous act.

Not a single soul knows me better than I know myself.

Well, there is the way I am, and then there's the way people perceive me. People themselves decide how they wish to see me, through the actions they see me make. If you talk to different people, some may have contradicting opinions about me. This isn't surprising, because I act differently depending on the environment, my relationship with that person, and how well I know them. So I guess you could say that there are many different versions of "me". Though I guess there is an underlying "template" which stays basically the same.

So, I feel that I know myself pretty well, but I don't understand everyone's perceptions of me. I guess that's what you were getting at....

Do I understand myself? I don't know, that depends I guess. I will be honest here...sometimes I don't understand why I do the things I do or how I think. In short, sometimes I just don't understand myself, but for the most part, yes I do know who I am and where I stand in life.

I believe the only person who really knows me through and through is my husband. I would be silent, gazing somewhere off the distance, and he'd say something like, "I know what you're thinking." Then he'll prove it by stating my thoughts out loud, just like that. Of course, he doesn't really know everything about me, but it's pretty damn close alright. And that's something that's quite scary sometimes, I must admit.

There have been times that people would say something about me and I would genuinely be surprised. I honestly had no idea that people perceive me in a different way than I see myself, but I guess that's a given and only natural. However, it irritates me when people talk behind my back and say things to other people (who are close to me) that I know is not true about me. They want to give me a bad image in front of other people because they have a personal issue with me and can't be arsed to face me instead. That, I have a problem with and although I try not to care, it just hits me hard at times.

When it comes to knowing who I am? I'm right. Other people can be right, too--but only if they share my thoughts. Hah!

I wouldn't think that everyone perceives me the same way, so I don't usually get caught up in what they may be thinking about me. I act differently towards different people depending on how well I know them.

Being told that I'm extremely nice sometimes surprises me. It doesn't seem noteworthy enough to point out, but I get that compliment every so often. It's not like I view myself as being mean spirited, but most people view me as someone who'd never say something "out of line."

What others know or think about me doesn't affect how well I know myself.

Sure, a person can know themselves well. Again, how others may perceive me doesn't affect how well I know myself. I act the way I see fit. Hopefully that displays--with relative accuracy--the kind of person I actually am to other people. I know myself better than anyone else.

However everybody is right. How we are perceived by people is who we are to them. It's totally subjective, but then again, so is what we think of ourselves, it's no different. We assume we know our own motivations, but really we convince ourselves that are motives for doing something are nice.
