The Eternal Battle of Good Vs Evil.

You always hear of it and you always see it being demonstrated in nearly every game we play. They say that the battle between good and evil, light and darkness, is eternal. Mayhap - however, which side do you generally favour?

I've always been one for a good baddie, figuratively speaking. That villain whom you love to hate and who will be memorable just for that one story they're involved in.

So, who do you like better - the goodies or the baddies? [:

The goodies, of course. Evil in general just doesn't appeal to me at all. They're entertaining to watch, but moreso when the goodies are beating the crap out of them...towards the end.

I typically side with the baddies unless they're EXTREMELY generic... In that case, the goodies, just so they beat the sense into him...

The baddies.
I hate the whole beat the big bad guy at the end and the planet will be safe scenario, its boring. At least if you were a baddie you could do whatever you want.

I love being the main antagonist, the one who is corrupted by sorrow and pain and ends up desperate to obtain power to alter his fate. Though I love being the bad guy who seek redemption as well, so I am a bit of both

Personally, I don't like it when there's a distinctive line drawn between "good" and "evil." Like Squall says in FFVIII, it's all a matter of perspective. Two sides with conflicting viewpoints are destined to battle. Both side considers itself righteous and the other side evil. In Neon Genesis Evangelion, Seele thinks it's doing good for the world when it initiates Instrumentality. In FFIX, Necron was positive that humanity actually wants to be destroyed until Zidane and Co. fight back. A truly well-written story doesn't explicitly label anyone "good" or "evil." Instead, it delves into the motivations of both sides, adding a human element to the antagonist as well as the protagonist.

If I had to choose between "good" or "evil," of course I would choose the side I feel is morally righteous (in my opinion, the righteous side is usually the one that tries hardest to avoid killing innocents). But, as far as video-games are concerned, I prefer when everyone is kept within the gray area between the two sides of the spectrum.

i much prefer the baddies. the ones who think that they are doing good. like seymour and Venat/Dr Cid/Vayne because they think they are helping people.
unlike th baddies that are just evil for the sake of being evil eg Ultmecia

and the goodies are so predictable, they always save the world, they dont do anything else

I chose evil, although my actual choice would be the morally gray hero. Somebody who's not afraid to harm one person to save two

I remember, when I was a kid, I wanted to be like Broly. You know, the Legendary Super Sayan with tank like arms, almost 7 feet tall, and with a serious attitude problem.
Main reason why I still use Broly in DBZ fighting games like Tenkaichi

The kind of villain that everyone fears, yet one dares to defy his madness. The villain finds the hero's efforts laughable, and launches an unyielding assault at nearly full power.

Oh, and I used to mock my friends a lot when using Cell. Mostly after beating them I used Cell's quotes like:

"Perhaps I over did it a little"
"How pathetic..."
"Boring..."

Then I used Kid Buu, and used quotes like:
[imitating buu's voice]
"Buu is angry, Buu will kick your A$$!!!!!"
