Really nifty! I thought the woman was Ada Wong at first, but it's a whole new partner for him, after all. Actually, since he mentioned his last partner was a woman as well...who was it again? =/
But yes, can't wait for this to come out! The lighting contrast (since it's something that's out of the norm when it comes to the RE games) and better CG is definitely something to look forward to, especially the storyline and plot.

I don't mind the wait, since it gives them more time to improve the game. RE4 really got me back into the series, so hopefully they stick with the same premise here. I think they are really reviving a great series with the new gameplay.

The last person he teamed up with in the series was his sister Claire Redfield in Code: Veronica but he was probably referring to Jill Valentine from RE1 who was his partner in S.T.A.R.S.

Ye, I've always been interested in the Resident Evil series up to this point. Mainly cos' of the storyline.
And gameplay, i should believe. Always do a fine job in scaring the wits out of people.

4 brought some really new and exciting features to the franchise, but in the process, lost alot of what made Resident Evil what it is, in my personal opinion. I've been with the franchise since the very first game, and that sense of dread, fear and atmosphere was just lacking in 4. This newest installment seems very interesting. Amazing graphics, and 4's style of gameplay, but it looks like they are at least attempting to bring back more of Resident Evil's roots. Packed alleyways with hordes of creatures, the light function should provide many a scare, as well as the heat exhaustion inclusion. And from the trailer, simply fighting should provide a lot of scares, with creatures popping open mutant mouths and tentacles. So yeah, if they can get the balance between action, tension and fear just right - 5 should be an outstanding game.

Seeing as Resident Evil 4 is WORLDS better than any previous Resident Evil title, I'd say the change is more than welcome.
Personally, I found Resident Evil 4 much more frightening than past titles in the series. Run-down towns full of hordes of blood-thirsty zombie mutants. Dark dungeons, caves and sanctuaries filled with monsters far more imposing than anything I've encountered in the earlier games. The new camera angle enhanced the feeling of fear. Not being able to see the rear or directly to the sides without completely turning around made me feel uneasy throughout the entire game. I always felt exposed.
Honestly, I'm extremely curious to see if these guys can make Resident Evil 5 significantly better than Resident Evil 4. Part of me is doubtful. Resident Evil 4 is that good. Resident Evil 5 still looks like it's gonna be one hell of an awesome game, though.

The thing with RE:5 is that the fights looks impossible to win to me...like with all those ppl around you trying to kill you is not only scary but is terrifying when you run out of bullets.

I'm sure the developers realize that few people want to play a game solely to get torn apart by hordes of unstoppable zombies. There's gonna be ways to win...despite the large number of enemies.
The game'll probably be extremely difficult, though.

Interesting. I've found very few people who share the notion that 4 held anywhere near the same fear factor of previous installments. It was a lot more enjoyable and exciting to play because of it's new system, but in term, became more of an action title than ever before. Fear, compared to Nemesis, Mr X, Tyrants and the like, just wasn't at the same level.
But it is interesting that you believe otherwise.
As long as they (as I mentioned) bring back some fear aspects (which it looks like they have) I'll be extremely happy.
