Mirror's Edge - MultiPlatform
Wow, this game is amazing. Extreme first-person action, stunning visual graphics, innovative damage system (similar to that of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) and dynamic story.
And I haven't even played it yet.
It was announced and demo'd by G4 at E3 'O8 live this year, giving gamers the new hope of something to look forward to. I for one am excited as heck to stuff this disk into my PS3. It's got the feel of "Portal" melded with its first-person controls and art style...and I adore Portal, so...
Just wanted to hear (or read) what you guys think about this upcoming game. Good? Crap?

Mirror's Edge
Haven't played it but I just watched the Gametrailers review. It actually looks pretty decent. I probably will not pick it up, simply because it isn't my kind of game.
Regardless of your thoughts on the game, check out the music. It's pretty good.

It's rubbish, don't get it.
I was playing the demo the other day and well...I can't really see what's attractive about running up walls 'an shit. And it's basically the same thing over and over again.

I love how the game looks. The graphics are pretty remarkable from what I've seen. I also love the platforming elements. Haven't played the game yet (or the demo, though demos don't always do games enoughjustice), but I'm planning on it.
The controls concern me. Based off the gameplay videos I've seen, the controls could be overly complex.

If you watch the review on gametrailers, they talk about the issues with the controls. Apparently they take some getting used to but are good once you figure them out. I guess it's all in the shoulder buttons basically.

Mirror's Edge
Less than a half an hour ago, I had the privilege of playing the demo of this game on the PS3, and it was AMAZING. For those of you who don't know, in Mirror's Edge you play as a free runner. The majority of the game consists of the player traversing through levels by jumping over rooftops and and such.
The best way for me to describe it would be to call it Prince of Persia in First Person Mode. At first, the controls of the game needed some getting used to, but after a short while you'll be hoppin' over rooftops and disarming enemies in no time. In fact, I'd say that this game is pretty easy (at least as far as the demo takes me).
Most of the actions like jumping, grabbing ledges, and running up and across walls are done with the L1 button. There are a few other actions done with the other shoulder pads like punching and sliding.
I don't really know what the story is about, but in all honesty, I don't really care that much. The gameplay way outweighs the story in this game, which is a good thing. This game is really fast-paced and the graphics are just stunning. If you can just run through a level smoothly, it's amazing to watch.
The full game just came out on the PS3 and Xbox360 last Tuesday here in the US. This is definitely on my "To Buy" list.
Has anyone else heard of this game?
