Characters that piss you off.

At the top of my list is Norma Beatty, from Tales of Legendia. I used to think characters couldn't get any more retarded and annoying than Luke from Tales of the Abyss, but that was before I played the mountain of crap, which is known as Tales of Legendia.

Norma is an annoying twit, and she's not very intelligent. All she ever does is cause trouble for the party and whine. Seriously, if they remade the game and the only feature added to it was that I got to shoot Norma to death with a nailgun, I'd buy it.

Jay from Tales of Legendia is an idiot, a punk, and an angry albino kid that can't get laid. He's really got to be one of the most annoying characters ever made. Usually when a character is insulting, they've actually got enough wit to make you chuckle, whereas opposed to Jay, he has none.

His insults are mainly aimed towards the only good character of the game and are nothing less than witty, childish, and probably some of the oldest relics among insults. Eventually, it grows tiring, and leaves him his robot value of his character.

Luke from Tales of the Abyss is also quite annoying, and recommended to take in small doses. Especially when you discover the Tower of Rem. In the beginning, he's just an annoying faggot (yet somewhat hilarious at the same time) but after the destruction of a location in the game that was all his fault, he gets a little emo, which is disgusting.

It doesn't show immediately, but nearing the Tower of Rem, he begins thinking that if he dies, the world will be saved. So in a nutshell, he climbs to the top of the tower, has a confrontation with his original, and a big beam of light kills a lot of replicas and shortens both his and his original's lives. After an examination, the doctor tells Luke that he doesn't have long to live, but he tries to shrug it off and lie to everyone. A few of his friends find out about it, and there are EVEN MOAR emo scenes about him crying about wanting his last moments in life to be happy ones.

But what's even more annoying about it, is that he just automatically shakes his emo shit when his Original dies and becomes a completely different character.

So does anyone else have any characters they'd like to mention that piss them off?

Ooh! I can think of a few. Let's see here.

Colette (Tales of Symphonia) - I can't stand Colette. Aside from being inferior to other party members in terms of usefulness, she comes off as being a brainless turd. Constantly falling down and apologizing. Her dialogue consists almost entirely of the following: "Hehe. I'm sorry." Blech.

Luke (Tales of the Abyss) - A spoiled, rich brat who goes from being a complete prick to a complete pussy. It's as if he changes just to get people to like him. At least he was mildly amusing at the beginning with his sharp tongue. Once he goes through his "changes," he's about as interesting as a steaming pile of fecal matter.

The Adoring Fan (The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) - If I'm not trying to think of nifty ways to kill this son of a bitch, then being around him is nothing but an annoyance. Everything about this guy is annoying. The way he talks...the things he says...even his stupid hair.

Riku (Kingdom Hearts 1) - I love deep, philosophical people who bitch and moan about being bored with life, but when they go traitor and come crawling back after getting slapped around, I usually don't end up liking them much. He comes off as being an arrogant douche, anyway.

Navi (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) - Please--for the love of God--stop pestering me in the middle of battles with your useless tips. You're not helping; rather, you're just distracting me. I hate that thing...

Tidus (Final Fantasy X) - Just hearing his voice makes me want to mute the television. That horrid laughing scene. It's as if the developers purposely wanted to drive players to the brink of insanity.

Simon (Rogue Galaxy) - Him and that fake accent was so annoying. Plus, he was just a lame character.

Rinoa (FFVIII) - GOD FREAKING DAMN she was annoying. Like a leech or something. She always whined, she always complained and she was ALWAYS under Squall. Pshhh.

Eiko (FFIX) - Please stop flirting with Zidane. =/. 'nuff said.

Anastasia (Shadow Hearts: Covenant) - Just for some reason, she seemed just too young and just annoyed me. =).

~ Xelha (Baiten Katos) - Her voice irked me. In fact, it's not much of a "voice" at all. It sounds so robotic, along with her personality.

~ Steve (Resident Evil: Code Veronica) - Gee, what a wuss. Claire can definitely kick his ass.

~ Hiro (Lunar 2: Eternal Blue) - I actually grew to appreciate his character in the end, but boy did he annoy me throughout the game. =/ He reminds me one of those sissy anime characters that always seem to whine and nose bleeding everywhere whenever they see a naked girl. Pathetic. Lucia needs a man - not a boy.

~Elena (Grandia II) - Ack. Too boring and very plain for a heroine.

~ Princess Peach (Mario Bros. series) - She definitely beats Rinoa when it comes to being a "damsel in distress."

~ Cheryl (Arc the Lad III - part of the Arc the Lad series) - Her character is so blah. It's as if she's always picking a fight and trying way too hard to be tough. You're not a gangsta, yo.

...I'm adding Falco from Super Smash Bros: Melee to my list.

I have no trouble defeating him when he's a level 9, computer-controlled foe, but he's still an annoyance to fight.

Lots of quick kicks that disrupt your movements. His laser is irritating as well...

Rinoa [Final Fantasy VIII]: She has always been my least-liked character, back since I was ten years old. After dating Squall's rival, she approaches him for a dance, just so she can be seen on the dance floor, and can spot Cid. She chooses to rebel against her father by creating a Rebel faction, and shows flippant disrespect to him while her orphan friends are with her. My main qualm with her, is that she was no heroine. All she did was cause trouble, or get in trouble:
1.) Her 'brilliant' plan to take out the President, which ended up being a zombie.
2.) Her 'brilliant' plan to give the Sorceress a necklace made by the famous Dr. Odine. Ya know, because it's not like she's a known rebel leader or anything.
3.) Getting nearly eaten alive by oversized lizards.
4.) Falling off the side of Balamb Garden.
5.) Being in a coma and being possessed.
6.) Making Squall risk his life out in space to save her.
7.) Sealing herself after making Squall open up to her, only for him to, obviously, go and save her.
8.) Becoming Adel's newest breast implants.
/)_-; Rinoa just turned FFVIII into: "Squall, SAVE ME!" So, yeah, she very much pissed me off.

Jester/Joker-dude [Devil May Cry 3]: I wanted to punch the screen everytime that freaky thing came on the screen.

Sophia [Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.]: I tried to like her, I really, really did. But, damn, that game was just creepy. Her and Fayt were cousins, yet they were still a couple. She was too goody-goody and sweet for my liking.

Yuffie [FFVII]: She...STOLE...MY materia! D= I just couldn't forgive her after that incident.

That about sums it up.

Dhoulmagus (Dragon Quest VIII) - I've been playing DQVIII the last week or so. What's the deal with this guy? Is he supposed to be an imposing villain or something? He's foolish. A stupid clown in a dress--that's all he is.

His voice is a cause of irritation as well...

Vaan, for his lame voice and crappy outfit. Doesn't look like he'd make a good fighter, makes silly remarks.

CJ (GTA:SA), for coming up with such retarded insults and ruining the whole game.

Alma, the most annoying boss in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It took me 20 tries to beat her.

Ashley, Resident Evil 4. Too much whining, too little fighting. I still enjoyed the game, though.
