Easter and Jesus!
Ok i was always confused of what does easter have to with jesus like the Rabbit and the Dying of the Eggs and jesus died on the cross? but after i watched this southpark episode it got really confused if you already watched it you know what i'm talking about.

Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That's all I know, to be honest. Couldn't tell yah how the egg hiding rabbit came into play.

Well, I can't see how Christmas trees and Santa Claus have to do with Jesus' birthday either, not that it even was in December, but in keeping with its pagan roots, it makes sense.
If there was a pagan holiday that "coincided" on Easter, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

christmas trees are german, or so im lead ot believe, not the trees, but the idea of having trees.
I think you are right about the commercialisation of holidays, however it would be too easy and most probably unfair to blame the USA for it

South Park tells the truth, St. Peter really was a hare. I still don't know why they had eggs at the table in The Last Supper though...
No but rly, I don't know wtf hares and eggs have to do with Easter. Some card company most likely came up with it when they figured it was more marketable than Jesus.

Yeah, pretty much. Religion becomes boring to people, or they start to realize it's silly, so along comes a company or two with some random ideas to turn it into a holiday about candy or what have you.
