Creation Theories

Oh look, here's another thread in this section by me. 4/5 ain't bad

So, here we can post and discuss our own creation theories. I placed this thread in the religious debate section because it was discussed in RE at school, therefore, I felt more comfortale creating it here. If any staff member feels differently, just move it

Did God create the world in 7 days? Was there a huge explosion billions of years ago that brought together the world we know it?

NB: As an extra topic, feel free to discuss evolution here, too.

I really dunno what to think about how the universe was created, but I know something like the Big Bang was there.
I disagree with the evolution of humans from apes, we might look like them, but we were never apes. In the Quran, it clearly states, that the first person ever created, was adam, from sand and mud, that is why, that when you die and you are buried, if you were buried normally, you could come back after a year and find that his body all decayed back into the sand. I read an extremely interesting article about how the universe is older than 13.7 billion years and it was formed by connecting with other universes, I dont believe this, I have yet to ask around.

It's a common misconception that humans are from apes...or humans aren't from apes because they were created. But in evolution, humans are actually descended from a common ancestor of both the apes and the humans, as well as many other homonid species. There has been an overwhelming amount of research and fossil evidence that clearly points to their being a common ancestor from which humans are descended. As far as I am concerned, there has been no evidence found of the "first" human whose name actually was "Adam", and was actually male, rather than female.

Read, and be amazed, as you discover the story of life, the universe, and everything condensed into a few paragraphs- also known as...

THE HISTORY OF YDNAC, AS TOLD BY ADAMANT

At first, there was only fudge. Everything and anything was fudge, not only because there was nothing else it could be, but also because it took up all space. This chocolate mass was unlike the fudge that we create today, as it was not made of eggs and baking mix- just pure fudge, and fudge alone.

Out of the mass, Ydnac appeared. Nobody knows why, but we do know he was hungry. So hungry, in fact, that he started to eat the fudge- and boy, did he eat. The more he swallowed, the hungrier he became, and the larger his belly grew. Soon, his bites were the size of planets and his meals the size of solar systems. Eventually, as most people do when they eat too much of one food, he got sick of it, and wanted something else.

So, he made a great workshop in the sky made out of the remaining fudge, and called it Earth. There, he made many types of candies from the depths of his imagination. At first, he made strange things, like pickled cherries and chocolate prune juice. When he found something he liked, he made more of it, and he threw everything else away. Eventually, his stack off discarded candies grew so big that it cluttered his workshop. “I know,” he thought, “I’ll make a creature that will consume all the candy that I don’t eat, so I don’t have to.” After saying this, he created the first bacteria. He gave them the ability to reproduce, and took away their ability to taste. Ydnac must always give and take, for even he must follow the laws of candy.

The bacteria, however, were just as keen as munching on Ydnac’s private stash as they were on eating his garbage. As soon he made some cookies or ice cream, his microscopic creations would be eating it just as fast. Frustrated, he decided he needed some helpers- so he created people. Ydnac was also somewhat greedy, and didn’t want humans to have any of his prized candy. So, he created a whole host of animals to distract the humans, and made the Earth appear as if it were billions of years old. Everything seemed peaceful.

By this time, though, the bacteria had multiplied millions of times over. Ydnac’s humans were beginning to get sick, and he knew a disaster would come of this if he did not act quickly. Unable to destroy all of the bacteria at once, he sadly decided that if he was to continue making candy, he had to pass the responsibility of taking care of his workshop to his human creations.

He gave humans the gift of medicine, and told them how to make many of his recipes. Not his finest, of course, for he still thought of himself as greater than any of his creations. He then dug many hundreds of miles into the Earth, and buried the way he came with fiery lava so nobody could follow him. Finally, took some out his mega red-hot candies into the sky, making the sun and the stars. With this, he left. Ydnac continues to make candy even to this day, though he has never been seen again by humanity.

Isn't "Ydnac" just candy backwards, and is his name considered so sacred like "Yaweh" that you're not allowed to say it?

It reminds me of that story of the flying spaghetti monster. What's with creation stories and food? Do people just like to make them up just before dinner when they're hungry or something?

It's called me writing an example of a creation myth for English class and re-posting it here.

Lmao, Adamant. I love it.

My dad actually considered the following and I can't help but lean towards that over the Big Bang (no religious theories for me, as most of you will know).

My dad believes in Aliens, strongly. He told me that he once thought of an alien, sitting in his bedroom, studying his school work. He glances up, looks at his Mould science project and slides it under the microscope, only to find that there was a black space inside. In this space, there were bright lights, a large (well, large under the microscope) ball of fire and several other balls, although significantly smaller. He went on, but I forget what he said.

Basically, he thinks that the Universe as we know it was created by one entity, but not God. He thinks that some matter of an Alien created the Universe by similar means to that described - a project, or research. He definitely thinks the Aliens are coming for earth. I find this quite an appealing theory and I personally find it valid.

Jeez, I make my dad sound like a scientist, or some kind of Sci-fi freak. I blame Star Trek

Adamant's creation theory reminds me of my visit to the Hershey Chocolate Factory when I was a little wee tyke. Anywho, I would give it an A. It beats the Giant Spaghetti Monster. I am praying to YdnaC for some M&Ms.

If it was a project, then how could that alien do anything if nothing was there in the first place, or do you suggest that something was there before the universe?

Not at all. Our Universe or rather, the Universe we know, was created by that creature. No, this isn't the beginning of creation, but this could be an infinite idea. Think of it like a two mirrors: if you hold them towards each other, the reflection is bounced back infinitely, you can actually follow a number of smaller frames. Quite intruiging, actually.
