I liked Starcraft a lot and for the past few years I've been trying to find a map that someone made that's named something like "Open Quest" or "Free Quest" I can't find it.

We finally have a significant update - Blizzard have updated the Starcraft II official website with a rather hefty chunk of Zerg samples.

Not before time, either! As you can see, we can now read up on the Zerg lore, as well as ogle over the Hydralisk and Mutalisk units. To top it all off, there's a trailer floating around Youtube, which briefly demonstrates the optimised Zerg forces.

I've observed a few debates in various locations over the internet, which concern the voice of the narrator of the Zerg introduction and two possibilities have been presented - Kerrigan, with a new voice (which is unlikely, as Talken Campbell has allegedly been confirmed to reprise her role as Kerrigan) or, as some say matter-of-factly, an infested Protoss Mother(ship). Looking back, I'm in agreement with the latter option, though it's unofficial either way.

The release of Starcraft II is becoming very real.

Starcraft is IMO the best (and still the best) RTS game ever. The gameplay is so so simple, all the units are balanced, and modding is ever so easy, resulting in many very entertaining UMS games (thats Use Map Settings for those who don't know).

Although battlenet is the main attraction, the single player storyline is worth a mention. It is believable (for a scifi), the characters make realistic decisions, and contains twists and turns that you couldn't predict.

I cannot wait for Starcraft II. The unit previews look amazing, especially the Protoss (drools over the Colossus). The only thing I'm not looking forward to is having to buy a new computer just so I can run it.

While I agree that Starcraft is the best RTS out there, and hope the ScII will raise the bar for RTS's, the units were incredibly unbalanced.

Im Also hoping that SCII also focuses on USM and comes with a great map editor like WCIII did, I think thats one of the reason's (if not the main) that SC is still played ever 10 years after its release.

Blizzard wouldn't have released Starcraft until each race was balanced perfectly - that's the entire point. Every unit has a direct counter-unit. The Terran are quite the balanced race anyway. The Protoss take ages to build units and structures but are more technically advanced and are generally the 'strongest' race. The Zerg are advantaged in the little length of time it takes to produce units and the numbers in which you can attack.

So what is the point of the game? I have heard of the game but some of my friends say it's good some say it's bad. What do you basically do on the game? My friends make it sound kinda fun. But some make it sound boring and horrible.
