Of course, it's legit to have a trademark design such as having wings, but you'd have to put fair restrictions on your characters.
Flight is typically a godlike feature...like Vegnya said.
You might have a character that can fly, but then they would have to have disadvantages that follow flight...

I like Oatmeal and chocolate chip too. =]

hey, no need to take it that far... i don't havethe wings constently, just when the characters get mad or something like that... and i am happy with that Rhea has done, i can't pull of something like this, i can bearly be able to update all the claming threads i had a while back

So you're saying that you want your characters to own a desperation move that would turn the tables in a given situation?

My character has a ghost that possesses her during desperation...it exhausts Shen afterwards, but is that out, too?

EDIT: I mean "no" as in "that won't be a problem". ^__^

There aren't any restrictions as far as creativity and imagination go...
You could have a five assed monkey who spits fire farts for all I care.
(Mhmm...South Park reference. <3)

It's just a matter of being fair. =]
Flight is sort of an unfair advantage, as well as unbreakable armor and stuff.
Just use common sense.

i see your point... but what about near the beginning, something happens to me, that makes me unable to fly?

I don't want you to change your characters' trademark design. I know it sucks when someone asks you to change a character that you've grown accustomed to...

So long as you play fairly during roleplays, having wings is fine. =]

wings look cool and maybe you have a restriction on how high you can fly or something or unless you can only glide or something

It's not that I'm enforcing any restrictions. I'm a fan of fighter games, so balance is something that I highly stress in battles, as well as in characters. Honestly, the wings themselves are not what bother me, but rather how much of an effect it will have on a character. I mean, if I see this one already decently powerful character who is more than capable when fighting on land also have the same strength in the air, I just know something can be easily abused. Again, it's knowledge from fighter games; a sense of balance helps me helps complete a character--and help me sleep at night.
