Fields...what does the term "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" in The Offspring's song mean, and how can you relate it to "The Guv'na"?

This song is somewhat ironic, because the protagonist isn't 'pretty fly for a white guy' at all, but just a clown that thinks he's legit.

This song has an almost exact correlation to Guv'na, as he genuinely believes he is well liked on these forums and has some clout, when its painfully obvious that these forums, and likely the world, would be a better place without him.

Let me cite some specific examples.

Guv'na professes on his own bio to be "a basement dwelling super-geek," yet insists to come online, talk shit to guys and talk game to girls, and not get it, when it needs to be gotten. His lack of 'style' is evident in the fact that he doesn't even have a picture of himself on his myspace page(yes, I've seen it, ashamed as I am to say) or in the member pics thread . Who doesn't have a picture of themselves on their myspace page?

Also, that 12 year old Abel kid can easily be replaced with Guv'na for this question. Probably more so, since he insisted one of our 19 year old female members was infatuated with him, and thinks he can talk shit to me.

I think we should hold their hands through their experience here and be nice so they like us, because if there's one thing I really want, it's to be liked by people I don't know on the internet. Also, we can all be really nice to them and not curse or flame each other around them, because the internet should be heavily moderated so as to not offend young children! And who knows, maybe a 12 year old with a middle school will have the real-world experience and intelligence on relevant matters to contribute something to a conversation that I actually care about! The obvious 2-week to permabanning of a few members that are blatantly wasting our server's bandwidth by posting useless, unintelligible shit on the site 40+ times a day. I don't think people realize how often these people with 1k posts in a month actually post when a majority come in the non counting forums. I don't really see why, or HOW, they would do it so often, to be honest. Nobody in the world has that much interesting shit to say. Absolutely no one. Much less than a group of people with the collective mental age of 14. That's combined, children.

Ban MR for bestiality. That shit's gross, broseph.

Eliminate the endless number of forums. Most of these games have been out for a decade or more, there is no need for a forum dedicate to each and every game. And spinoff game (which all have sucked thus far). And every FF movie (which are all complete shit, every post should be 'This film fucking sucked'...Actually, AC was kinda nifty, but left so little room for thought and interpretation). I'd probably make a section for 1st generation games (NES-SNES, i guess). One for 2nd (PS1,FFX and FFXII and not x-2 since it was not only the worst ff, but one of the worst games of all time) and one for upcoming games or whatnot. Or maybe just one FF forum, where any discussion would go. You would be surprised how many compulsive, shitty threads that don't contribute crap aren't created if these forums are removed.

Create a very relaxed forum that isn't really work safe and has a disclaimer. NWS, taboo subject (sex, drugs, booze) flaming, cursing, etc. is allowed there and only there. Not only would this remove this crap from the 'real' forums on the site, but it would reduce the workload of the staff ("You read the disclaimer, it's allowed. If you don't like it, don't go into the forum." Would be my line to crybabies). So if you get sick about arguments about Sephiroth and Supeman fights, you can talk about being, you know, a grown up. However, if being a grown up is a prerequisite for posting there, only 5 members will be there total.

Put my sweet forum game into action.

Instate 2 hour bans for being stupid. Based off the particular staff members judgement. Seriously. This would straighten the forum out a ton without any negative long term effects. Even if you went on a banning spree for no apparent reason, they'd all be back in 2 hours. No harm, no foul.

Find a way to fix the site's bugs since this new server was put into place.



This all but ensures that I won't get a staff job, ever. But this shit would actually make this place...kinda cool?
