NOOO MY ARTICUNO. It may have been the worst of the legendary birds at a normal level, but mine was always in my team and got to level 96, so it truly was... "legendary."

Lugia owned all the Legendary birds

Anyway has anyone actually seen any of the movies lately , their was loads of advertising for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd movie then it just stopped...out now their are nine!
I mean how could you not advertise a Pokemon movie with Lucario in it?

But the games are indeed epic

Another reason why Alakazam in particular is less powerful is a result of the new physical/special system in Diamond/Pearl. Before, Alakazam could have a moveset of Physic/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch/Fire Punch, and be the best special sweeper you've ever seen. In the new games, movies that make physical contact are based on the Pokémon's attack stat, not special attack like before. Alakazam (and a lot of other psychic Pokémon) have terrible attack.

I actually thought the special stat affected the attacks which are of the same type as the Pokemon themselves.
I tried giving a Nidoking and Nidoqueen several attacks of different elements, but it never worked out because they didn't do much damage.

I'm pretty sure he's right about that but moves of the same type as the one using it gets a further buff so you might see a difference because of that.

Bleh, screw Psychics; Dragons ftw!
Dragons are not necessarily the fastest, but their physical and special attributes make up for it. I have yet to see a Dragon without a max stat above 160, and if it is below that, it's just because it hit that small chance that their nature and stat rating coincided, and their weakest stat also became the one that grew the slowest.
They also learn amazing moves (Dragon Claw kicks major ass), and have great health to compliment it. Not to mention the most powerful legendary (to my knowledge) is a Dragon. Neither Mew, Mewtwo, the Elemental Birds, the Elemental Dogs, the Guardians, etc. can compare to Rayquaza.

Actually, Arceus is the strongest legendary, and it can be any type
I don't really like using Legendarys, since they make it too easy, but I have a soft spot for Mew and Jirachi xD and, In my opinion, the Legendarys from Diamond / Pearl are way too overpowered, and take all the fun from it.

I quite like the old versions too, though graphically speaking they are quite dull compared to pokemon ruby, leafgreen etc.
Did anyone get a 'mew' (it is a random encounter apparently) in pokemon red/blue?
The eevee evolutions are the mightiest- hands down.

I had 3 Mews from a Nintendo event held in 2001, gave one to my brother and lost the other two when the game deleted itself.
I was fucking gutted.
And Jolteon kicked ass. ^^

In the first 3 generations of games, (RBY, GSC, RSE, FRLG), all the types were divided into two groups. Ones based on physical attack, and ones based on special attack. Types like normal, rock, steel and ground were all physical, and obviously types like fire, psychic, dark and water were based on special.
For the 4th, the DS generation, moves were divided into moves that actually involve the Pokémon striking the opponent, like the elemental punches, take down, and ones that attack from range, like Hyper Beam, Thunder etc. Some Pokémon are now quite different as a result.
Dragonite, has a higher attack than special attack. Under the old rules, Hyper Beam was based on attack, being a normal move, but in new terms, obviously it's a special move.
Flareon has really high attack. In the old rules, if it wanted to use a fire type move, it would be based on it's special attack, so it has suffered (and so was almost never used in competitive play). In the new rules, certain fire moves (ie, Fire Fang) are based on the physical attack stat, so Flareon is a little better, but not much.
I think a Pokémon using a move of the same type as itself get a same type attack bonus (STAB on all the forums). It's only a 1.5x multiplier, I think.
