Ugh, honestly... The only ones I'm impressed with as of late are Luxray, Garchomp, and one other pokeman that kicks ass that I haven't caught yet. I think I've finally figured out why I dislike D/P so much. Because you always need two pokemans that are going to be utterly useless to get wherever you need to go.
Victory road pisses me off. Your Rival has SIX pokemans that are all properly leveled, while you can only have four with two Pokemon that suck ass and have shitty moves. Namely HMs.
Not that it's every stopped me from beating the holy piss out of my rival before, but... It really cuts down my interest in making my team as diverse as possible.
S'really a pain in the ass.

But all of that's what the point is not. The point's that's there ain't no romance 'round there.

Well that's put me off getting it.
Although I think I'll try and hi-jack my brother's and see what I think of it. I played his version of Ruby and loved it so he eventually just gave it to me along with his gameboy advance. XD

Though, I never quite bothered my arse with him, though. I just got me a Nidoran male and trained it until it learned double kick. Not a bad addition for long term play, really.
The new pokemans in D/P look really shit. D :
On top of that, I've recently become angry towards Brady games because they pulled a real cock-up on their Diamond/Pearl guide. Honestly, it didn't even say SHIT about the new pokemans like Rhyperior, Electrive, or even some of the Sinnoh legendaries bar Palika, Dialga, and the mini coneheads.
Ugh. It makes me regret selling all my pokemon shit. Bunch of bastards. >: (

I've never botherd with Nidorans tbh. Manky never lasts in my team however, rarely any futher than the second gym.
I'm still trying to get my head around some of the R/S/E 'mons, nevermind the absolute freakshows that are the D/P efforts.

Dude, totally. You do the dirty work and get the club started cuz I'm way too lazy. I've got plenty of hatred for that beaver thing...and his douche bag of an evolved form.

Yesiree. Luxray and Garchomp have been in my team with each of my Diamond files. There was another pokemon I remember liking. Damn, what was that thing called...
...was it the evolved form of Roselia? Might've been. It looked like a prostitute covered in plants, but it had solid stats.

That's the truth. When I first saw Luvdisc, I realized the folks at Nintendo were getting lazy on us. xD

Roserade.
I don't think I've ever bothered with it. It's a tad slow, and the whole Toxic/leech seed/mega drain strategy with grass types got old for me. I might check it out sometime, though...

I was hard-pressed for pokemon at the time. haha
I swear, it's like they want you to make a team of six Bidoofs. That's all I can find anywhere.
I think Roserade has the highest special attack of any plant type in the game, though. Finding a shiny stone was a bitch...

I had Red, Yellow (never finished), Silver (never finished), Ruby and Pearl, with my little brother getting the other versions. I caught all 151 in Red, but after that I gave up on ever having a complete Pokedex again because there are too many in each game.
I actually liked the Pearl/Diamond games, even though I thought Palkia and Dialga were not as cool as Groudon and Kyogre. Also, I'm tired of roaming legendaries (like Cresselia) using up all of my Master Balls.
My team from Pearl:
1. Empoleon
2. Roserade
3. Luxray
4. Rapidash (Is it just me, or were there not that many fire Pokemon in this game?)
5. Alakazam
6. Kricketune

I could reminisce about my Pokémon enthusiast days for hours on end, I can vividly remember the times when the playground was ruled by the currency of Pokémon cards and the power of the almighty Charizard shiny.
Those were the days eh?

Definitely not just you. I don't believe I even had a fire pokemon in my final party. It's either the starter or Ponyta, it seems.

I was so happy when I got to import Pokemon from the Pal Park. Camerupt for life.
I pick it up again every once in a while, but just to trade for some random number. I don't even know when we're supposed to see a non-hacked Darkrai, Shaymin or Arceus.
