Mario 64
any body remember the first mario game for the nintendo 64? if so, put what you thought about it on here.
i thought that it was a fantastic game, with really good graphics considering the year it came out (1990's)

I loved this game and remember playing it for ages needing only 1 more star. I had 119 and could never find the last one.

Star-collecting was pure joy and the unique multiple-mission style of gameplay looked fresh at the time. Each challenge set for acquiring the stars were really well thought out and felt rewarding upon completion especially the 100 coin ones. There were some levels that left a very deep impression on me, not just in terms of difficulty but also for its memorable design, like the Shifting Sand Land, Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride.
A genuine masterpiece. It was my favourite N64 game for quite a while, only to be dethroned by Zelda: OoT a year later after its release.

I liked Mario 64. It sure made Mario a bit more goofy than intended. XD And it introduced many new aspects to Mario.
The only things I didn't like about the game were that you couldn't be Luigi :( and there wasn't any memorable music.

Super Mario 64 is an amazing game. I downloaded it onto my Wii awhile ago. Even today, it makes most platformers look like crap.

Best 3D platformer to this day and still the benchmark for any other game of the genre. I've not played Galaxy at this time but it'll have to be something special to top this masterpiece.
I collected all 120 stars as well.
