Fire Emblem

Fire Emblem for the GBA. I would call this a perfect mix of strategy from Advance Wars, and RPG elements. The characters all have depth, the storyline is well-written, if cliché at times, but keeps you not wanting to turn the game off.

This game was a wonderful experience, but the best part was sending in the select few to battle an army. Matthew dominated in most of my playthroughs with his super speed and decent critical.

I play Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for a period of time and found it most enjoyable, until I got to the point where I simply couldn't for the life of me go any further. Good game though, I reccommend it.

It was a good game. I got mad at how many criticals my enemies got on me. Infuriating it was.

I think this series is amazing. I love the turn based strategy (which exceeds that of Advanced Wars....there no buying new characters). I have both GBA games and the Gamecube one and I love them. My only downside is that it's easy to level up characters that aren't actually suitable for later missions.....because it's easy to get hooked on certain characters. The Wii Fire Emblem should be very good.

I've only played Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and I must say that I'm already hooked. I know there's other Fire Emblem games out there, but what really stumps me is that they are only made for certain consoles.

PoR was made for Gamecube, which I have. Then I saw that there's also Radiant Dawn for Wii, which I don't have. I know there's a couple more made for GBA (The first original Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones). I don't like the fact that they are dividing the series for different consoles...

Anyway, I'll go ahead and say my reviews for PoR.

Fantastic. One of the best tactical RPG game I've played so far. (Not that I've played many). They included the laguz race, which I thought was very neat, although not as innovative.

Storyline can be quite boring, and the characters aren't really developed (not to mention that if they die in battle, you lose them for the remainder of the game), but that's because they focused more on the battle-system more than anything, which by the way, is extremely fun and entertaining.

Really, I was more into the battles than I was for the story or character development, which is totally opposite of what my usual tendre for is in a game. I recommend this to anyone who loves strategic games.

I own all three games so far (will buy the Wii version when it's released here in UK). Much like the Dragonquest/Dragon Warrior series made by Enix, the first Fire Emblem game that was released on GBA was the 7th in the series.....but was the first released outside Japan. Here's a link to more info on the series.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_Emblem

Anyway, I'm a fan of the games and really like them too. They can be very unforgiving and I'm afraid to say I've not finished a single one I have. The main reason for buying the first game was because I had bought Advanced Wars and really loved it. Seeing as this was by the same company but with a fantasy twist, I jumped at the chance to play it. I was completely happy with it. I love the fact that you have to keep your character alive the whole game or they're gone forever. It makes you want to keep them alive whereas in Advanced Wars you could just build more units once they were killed.

I am also a fan of the Fire Emblem series. Although, I only own the two GBA versions. Anyone who is a fan of tactics style RPG's should be a fan of Fire Emblem.

Great series! I enjoyed the handheld ones more than I liked the gc version. (haven't played the wii version yet)

Hopefully they'll continue making handheld ones, or at least re release the old ones that were for the snes.
