Okay guys, I've done some looking around, and there is something we need to work on. It's not just one person, it's quite a few people, and not just in one section but in most of the Entertainment Daily subforums:
Spammy Posts
We have to remember, althought Entertainment Daily is more of a laid-back, fun-loving forum,
it's still not the spam section, therefore the rules of the other areas of Final Fantasy Forums still apply, and that includes spammy posts.
Just as a reminder:
Spamming - (1-5 Warning Points)
Spamming is generally not allowed on these forums (although you can spam in the Spam forum, it must be done within reason). Spamming usually includes the following:
- A post that only contains one or two words
- A post that is pointless
- A post that is irrelevant to the topic
- A post that consists of only smilies or random letters (i.e. asdlfjssdf)
- A post that is of a personal nature (i.e. directed to one person only, please use the PM system for this)
- If the post only contains Similes/Metaphors/Innuendoes which may or may not be related to the topic.
The kind of posts I'm seeing the most of in here are the second and third in the list, which I highlighted in red.
Examples of such are:
"Wow, that was funny."
"I have to see that again."
"I'll check it out later."
These posts are not acceptable on their own. Entertainment Daily is for casual discussion about books, movies, music, etc., but the keyword is "discussion".
Post such as the ones listed above are considered spam in this section.I've already given out a few verbal warnings reminding members to contribute more to their topics.
I'll usually only warn you if your post is only a sentence, or two very short sentences without any real content, or if you're behaving in an inappropriate manner as outlined in the offical forum rules.
The bottom line is, let's work together to keep this area clean so everyone can enjoy it. It also helps by making posts a little longer so members who come into the middle of the conversation don't have to go back to the beginning of a thread to find out what it was about.
General Guideline: If your post is about 2-3 sentences, appropriate, and doesn't involve flaming of other members or any kind of violation of the forum rules, then you're in good shape.
If you have any more questions, feel free to PM myself or any of the other staff. We're friendly and are here for you!
