It's symbolic.

Of what, you ask? Nobodies are the antithesis of their original. The word "ex" is Latin for "out of, outside, or former" & can be shortened as just "X".


Now look at the names: Roxas, Xemnas. Rearrange the letters & you get: X-Sora, X-Ansem. The Nobodies are ex-originals; hence they are anagrams of their original bodies with the letter "X".

I think that yours is the best explaination I ever heard so far. I mean it makes complete sense and everything. I never really sat to think about it but I wonder who the other Nobodies are. I wonder if you ever find out.

EDIT: But wait wasnt Axel the Nobody of Riku? I swear I heard that one somewhere and the letters for Riku arent in Axel. I still like your explaination the best but thats the only thing I can think of.
