squall changed to leon because he could not protect his world from destruction so he bears the name leon until hollow bastion is restored to its former glory.....or something like that

yea in the story somewhere cant exactly remember u get the impression he didnt want to remember his old world because he couldnt save it so he started using leon instead

The Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games are 2 different universies. Hence the reason Auron and Tidus are present cause Tidus does not exsist and Auron is dead.
