Site Rules
Welcome to FFF! While you're here though, you might want to take a moment to read and review the rules which are very important when it comes to posting. If you want to continue to stay with us here on the site, all we ask is that you follow these rules and guidelines.
note: the rules are in no particular order, we just wish for all of them to be followed equally.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do not spam unless you are in the spamming section please. We like to see posts that are bigger than just a couple of words or small sentences. A good example of spam would be: Spam 1: Yeah, I agree too. Spam 2: I really like the outfit Tifa wears. Those are prime examples of spam. If you insist on posting, please put effort into your posts and make it longer than just one sentence. If you do not, a moderator will edit your post with a Mod Note, letting you know to put more effort into your posting. Spamming also includes double posting. This is just effort to get your post count up. Do not do this. Failure to do so, will result in post deletion and/or an infraction for spamming.
Do not crosspost (post the same message in more than one forum) That gets rather irritating to see the same thing over and over again. We have most likely saw it the first time. We don't need you to reiterate in other forums.
Do not post nonsense - no gibberish (unless of course people can understand what you're saying or you're just joking, please do not make every single post in typespeak as it's rather irritating)
Do not post self-promotion- There is an advertising section for you to advertise your forum at. Please use it. Also we do not allow advertisement in signatures either. Failure to comply with these rules will result in further action taken.
Do not post inappropriate content - This includes porno, nudity, intense profanities, and any other inappropriate images/content.
Do not flame, insult or instigate (start fights) with other members. We consider flaming to be cussing another member out, etc... Insulting that person,whether it be during a debate or just simple dislike, we do not encourage here so do not pursue it. While we understand that everybody is not going to get along and people are going to hate on another, we don't want to see it public on the board. Keep it in Private Messages or e-mails or IMs on a messenger. If it's seen on the public board and continued after the first offense, then you will be either suspended or permanently banned from the site.
Do not harass other members-If you feel a member is harassing you whether it be sexual, threats, stalking, etc... you can PM any one of the administrators or moderators and we'll handle it from there. Any harassing that we do discover will be delt with, and further punishment will ensue. We do not tolerate any form of harassment, discreet or not, we will see it. This includes sending members other members private messages just to insult, flame, or stalk them.
Do not create more than one account- We do not allow for one user to have duplicate accounts. If you want to have a name change, there is a thread in the Information Compendium for name change requests you can find here: Username Change Requests There are, however, exceptions to having duplicate IP accounts which would be if you have a brother, sister, significant other, etc... that is on the forum as well and shares the same IP as you, that's fine. If you're at school and other members from the same school have accounts as well, that's fine, just let us know so we don't ban an account by accident. You as a person are allowed one account alone. Failure to abide by this rule will result in account banning/deletion and the person who created the second account will be suspended.
Signature Limit- Signatures will not be over 500x200 pixels and/or 100kb in size- A maximum of 3 images will be allowed, with the first not being over 500x200 and the second two not over 500x100 pixels each. Also, having quotes in signatures will be limited based on the number of signatures. Having 3 signatures will limit you to 1 quote or 3 lines of text. Having 2 signatures will limit you to having 3 quotes or 5 lines of text. Having 1 signature will limit you to having 5 quotes or having 8 lines of text. Having no signature will limit you to 7 quotes or having 10 lines of text.
Argruing with Moderators - If you have a disagreement with a moderator, please do not make it public and argue with them in the thread. Please take it to PM. If an understanding cannot be reached, or you feel the moderator is being needlessly argumentative, take it to an Administrator. We will handle the situation from there.
Do not post (about) copyrighted material- That is copyright infringement and could get you into a lot of trouble, so unless you have permission, do not do so. This also includes any type of illegal gaming such as emulators. Final Fantasy Forums does not support emulating, so please take it elsewhere if you wish to illegally game.
Do not psuedo-mod- We have moderators on the board for a reason and that's to take care of any forum issues that may arise. We don't need members doing a moderator's job. Some examples of psuedo-modding are:
1: Telling members what to do. We don't need you guys to do that. If a member makes a mistake and needs to be corrected, we will take care of that problem.
2: Don't tell people what they can and can't post. That's is also our job and if we feel it's inappropriate, we will deal with it.
Do not sell your items here- We are not eBay. You can go there to sell your things. While we do have an advertisement board, that isn't for advertising your things that you're selling. We don't allow advertisement accounts for people to sell their products here either. Any account seen as such will be handled and decided if they deserve a ban or not.
Please do not mass post just to get into the RPG- While we understand new members are most eager to play, don't go around post-whoring just so you can get into the RPG. You will be warned for doing such and barred from the playing the RPG if we see this is what you're doing. Just be patient and post like normal. If you do so, eventually you will get to play. Playing the RPG is a privilege, not a right as is posting. Follow the rules, post like normal and you'll get to play. After reaching 50 posts, it normally takes 24 hours for your usertitle to change and allow you access, so if you don't get in right after you reach 50 posts, don't panic.
Please do not ignore PMs from a Staff Member-We may PM you for various reasons and we'd appreciate it if you would please PM us back to let us know you got it and understood what we were trying to say. We will be able to see if you've been online and not read our PMs so it would be best if you didn't ignore us. We could be PMing you for something important. If you're able to log on and post, there is no excuse for you to ignore a moderator's PM. If you don't follow up on this rule, further action will be taken.
Existing Threads- Please go through and thoroughly check to see if a thread that you have in mind has already been created. I understand some may be overlooked and everyone does that now and again, but if it's an obvious thread such as Final Fantasy VII Remake (which there is a sticky for that) make sure it's not there first before you create it.
Do not ask to be a moderator- We have a lot of people who want to be on staff. While we do understand why you'd want to be a moderator, there's only so many positions open. If you constantly throw out hints or blatantly ask to be one, you've already lost your chance of ever becoming a mod. Staff observes people and when we need new mods we chose whom we see fit.
disclaimer:
Members must note that these rules are more specifically guidelines for those on staff to follow in the instance of rule breaking. The enforcing of the rules is a result of moderator discretion, and can be slightly altered in accordance to the severity of the situation which may or may not incur. In accordance to fairness, members are free to dispute a moderator action should they feel it was entirely unfair and/or unprovoked.
These can and will be subject to change as staff sees fit so please make sure to check them regularly. Thank you.
