Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy
"Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy is a “no budget” film made by Hive Division, a collective of Italian students and young filmmakers. It's a non-profit project, based on the videogame saga Metal Gear Solid, created by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. Driven by our passion for cinema, new technologies and Hideo Kojima's work, the aim of this project is to prove that a full-length sci-fi feature, of professional standards and with the minimum of resources, is still achievable by the hardiest amongst us. The total amount of money spent on this completely auto-produced film has been less than 10.000 Euros."

Anyone else heard of this movie? Anyone else excited about it?
I didn't think much of this project when I saw the website before the first trailer was released. There were a few screenshots that didn't look all that bad but nothing to really excite me. The first trailer looks pretty darn good, and I'm looking forward to watching this when it's finally released for free online.

Pretty good, actually. The sound effects really caught my attention and the fact that they really made sure to include "stealth" in there somewhere. I thought he was going to face that monstrous-looking machine, but then he stealthily made his presence unknown as he ran on when he had the chance. That's what it's all about alright. xD I agree though, acting isn't all that, but it's fine. I'd like to see this movie nonetheless.

I'm pretty excited for it, even though I've never known about this. D: I'm fond of the lighting and effects, especially the walking screeching thing. I got a little dizzy watching this. Snake looks pretty good as well.
I looked at the screen shots, looks like we're in for something.

I don't know if the machine featured in that trailer is actually a Metal Gear or not. In another trailer it looks as though they are being mass-produced. I'm guessing they're to this as the Metal Gear RAYs were to MGS2.

This looks very interesting indeed, I'm impressed with some of the effects such as the Metal Gear. Although I must say that I wasn't overly impressed with the acting, it just didn't seem believable to me. Another thing which kind of annoyed me was the camera work, there were too many long shots. Also the camera wasn't steady (whether this was intentional or not, I didn't really like it). But considering this is an extremely low budget film which is being produced by students, it looks pretty interesting and I will definitely watch it when it comes out.

Yeah, we all want to see the big budget Hollywood production but this will be a nice filler, I think. It looks as though this will be released way before the movie adaption of MGS anyway, that production is so far off. Have they even decided on a director yet? I heard it the guy who did Equilibrium was supposed to be on board...
