Banned IP address
first off can someone move this to the help desk section? i tried to go there but it took me to a page that said oops the page cannot b displayed
every now and then when i try to get on a certain thread, or post in a certain thread, it says my ip address has been banned. what does that mean? have i done something wrong? i havent recieved any warnings about anything and ive been on the site a pretty good while and am a full member. im just really confused about what i have done, and would like to have it resolved if possible. :(
very sry about posting in the wrong section. it wouldnt let me into the help desk tho...

Someone probably has the same IP address as you... Or a proxy or firewall you have is acting up... OR, someone else used your IP address and got banned.

Thread has been moved to Help Desk.
No, you're not IP banned. You didn't do anything wrong. What's happening to you sounds very odd. I'll inform the admins about this.

I can't say I'm aware of the cause of the problem, though we'll definitely be looking into this.
Does it happen in any specific section or thread, or entirely at random?

Thought it was the problem. Another AOL user. Damn AOL Proxy. Probably a user got banned using the IP. Banning AOL Proxy IPs is pointless.
Found when tracing the user's IPs ae13.proxy.aol.com

What happens is that AOL assigns you with several different IPs. These IPs could be similar to people who live several miles away from you. The only way the problem can be resolved is that AOL set their IPs differently.
The only way the admins can fix this is to remove IP bans on all AOL IPs. That would be extremely tedious.
Proxies suck.
