FF 12 hunts

I want to do the Ixion hunt, however it dose say its at Whitecap Wench (Balfonheim Port, The Whitecap) Which i do have access to. Why is there no hunt available for me to take it? do i need a certain rank? any ideas are nice

You have to beat a certain number of the other Marks first.

Yeah, are you going by the game telling you that you can fight Ixion now, or did you just read somewhere that you can face him?

Ixion is close to one of the final Marks to face off against. The petitioner is located at the Balfonheim port like you stated, but the actual fight with Ixion is in the subterra levels of the Pharos.
