Ok, I have been in the cave before, seen the scene. I exited, saved, turned off the game, went back, no treasure!!! what happened?

P.S I went into the cave for the first time on disc 3

I`ve always found that you have to wait a while before going back in, a good few hours.

Actually I think you have to visit the cave a bit earlier, like when you first get the sub, and then go back later in the game. That might not be right, but I'm sure you can only get the items just before going into Midgar, which would mean you have to visit for the first time before then.

You have to do it on disc 2, when you first get the submarine and then it'll work when you do it again on disc 3.
So you're buggered.

I have read on a walkthrough, it doesn't matter which disc you do it on, you can still get it, but it says to wait a few hours, and complete a certain amount of battles
